Man, your verbal input on the pedals, their usage and capabilities is as least as important and valuable as your absolutely amazing and unique playing. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise
@thepedalzone11 ай бұрын
Really kind of you to say. Don't think anyone has told me otherwise, or maybe I've blocked those comments from my memory 😂 Just comes down to me not finding as much enjoyment in doing long speak/commentary parts right now. So want a format that allows me to just focus on the playing, which I still very much enjoy. But this pedal deserved a couple of words, because it just freaking RULES

The thing about so many pedal reviews and demos is that half the time people don't know what to do with them. They just hook them up and play something, and often it doesn't make any musical sense. I can confidently say that has never been the case on your channel. You always take the time to figure out how to get the best sounds from all the pedals you bring on. Well done as always, and I thank you!

You have been solely responsible for me purchasing some of the pedals you've reviewed, not just based on the sounds you produced on them, but also because of the poetic license you take in describing those sounds and how they make you feel...Please don't ever stop talking shop about these pedals...U RoK!

What a unique pedal. I like how the grit is so touch sensitive. Light picking and gentle strings gives you a nice crisp push. But then digging in and picking harder makes it really blossom out.

I love that you interjected into this! One of my longtime favorite aspects of your channel is when you express your impressions and feelings about the pedal at the end of the video. Maybe you're sick of hearing me say that so I'll stop there! Great demo, great playing, and big (parasocial of course) hugs my man!

This is by far the most interesting OD pedal I've heard in a long time. Those nasty, gnarly overtones and this distinct Gritty fuzzy noise it produces are brought out so deliciously by your sensitive playing. Thx for your great work again!

Cheers, man! Yeah, I just really liked the packaging and overall presentation of Intensive Care Audio pedals, so just wanted to showcase that in a way that didn't overshadow the main attraction which is always the sound. And this pedal sounds INCREDIBLE. Happy you like it!

This pedal sounds great, ive been interested in their stuff for awhile and that probably is the best packaging ive seen from a pedal company. This seems similar to the Holy Island Audio Tides V2 I just got. I would love to see what you could create out of that pedal
@thepedalzone10 ай бұрын
Definitely give Intensive Care Audio a go. I'm so impressed by everything they make. Isn't Tides a dirty reverb pedal? Life Support is "just" a drive pedal. Or is it the drive section in Tides that reminds you of this one? Definitely need to try some Holy Island stuff someday. He makes really interesting stuff.
@wilsonkeeler597710 ай бұрын
@thepedalzone it is a dirty reverb, but yes the drive part sounds similar to me. The tides has become my favorite pedal on my board after dialing in the perfect clang

@tusleplopp111 ай бұрын
Sounds great, riffs are on point! I like it alot, it's a nice change from my own drive tones who are more smooth and has less "texture" or graininess. Keep it up, i wish i could jam with you and pick your brain for ideas and inspiration, luckily for you i live in norway and i am not a stalker(i do stalk your channel though) :P
@thepedalzone10 ай бұрын
Yeah, it does have a pretty unique texture compared to the majority of drive pedals out there. To me, this is how a drive pedal should be. Perfectly captures the sounds in my head

Very annoying that I'm in between this and the silktone+ for my drive pedal... I love the transience with this one but I'm insanely impressed with the tone of the latter. Decisions decisions.. Thanks for the amazing demo as always!!

We're stuck in the golden age of pedals. Too much good stuff out there. So I totally understand the dilemma. I'm sure you'll arrive at the right conclusion for you, and I'm sure you'll get a great drive pedal no matter what. If you do decide on the ICA Life Support, then you know where you can find it though :)

When you get a new pedal how do you choose the guitar to test it?
@thepedalzone10 ай бұрын
I wish I could give you a really well thought out, analytical and scientific answer to this, but I honestly just pick up the guitar that is closest to me 90% of the time. And if I feel like I've been playing that specific guitar a bit "too much" then I'll go out of my way to move the extra steps to pick up another one 😊😂

Can the fuzz be dialed out or can it compress more?
@thepedalzone9 ай бұрын
What do you mean about dialling out the fuzz? The amount of compression is controlled via the blendable Clipping knob. If you have it set fully counter-clockwise, then the sound will be more compressed, whereas if you push it clockwise it will start to become more open and full frequency
@jginther19819 ай бұрын
@@thepedalzone I guess I'm used to tube screamers and klons. This in comparison sounds similar to a fuzz pedal to me. I guess what I'm asking is can you get more clarity or transparency from it or does it just have tons of gain naturally?
