Intensive tank culture of Nile Tilapia in Tanzania 🇹🇿 🇹🇿🇹🇿

The tank demonstrated here is 10m³ in volume and stocked with 1,000 fish to be harvested at around 250g@ (250kg total).
The air pump provides continuous aeration and the water pump moves the water around the tank in such a way that the solid waste (fish poops & uneaten food) is collected at the centre of the tank and flushed out twice everyday.
There is neither mechanical nor biological filter in this system, which makes it less costly and simple to operate.
Due to the unreliability of grid electricity in the region, the air pump must be provided with a backup power (a battery🔋 and inverter or solar power) as it is the most critical part of this system.
Shading is recommended but not mandatory.
The 5% waste water removed daily is an ideal source of organic nutrients to your garden or lawn, which renders this culture method environmentally friendly.
The profit margin of this culture method is 25 to 30%.
