Cool video as always, it was nice to see what all the theory of the pink noise circuit went into.

Now I just need to put THIS noise to work toward something bigger yet again. Hopefully many experiments to come.

the good old pink waves crashing on the seashore i remember doing that back in the 70's. When noise was random :-)

Yeah I think I'll work on generating retro noise and see how it compares at some point...

Fantastic ! I'm gonna play with this, great work,......cheers.

It worked better than I expected - I'm glad I actually tested the frequency range on the scope because if I relied on the computer/recording, I'd wonder what happened to the rest above 8KHz, but I'm sure it's there...when I messed with different cable setups like swapping dupont and alligator clips to connect to line in, at one point it was only recording up to 4 KHz so it's definitely cabling sensitive

Thanks! Next month I'll be getting started on setting up a whole new workshop environment and hopefully have everything way more organized/accessible and improve lighting, ability to remember where I put parts I need, tools etc!

Do not install. I think I picked up the acronym at some day job over the years. Also have seen DNS (do not stuff) DNP (do not populate)

@@TheEmbeddedHobbyist I've also seen "NOPOP" which looked bulky. I think in the end I just learned "if it doesn't have a number in it, don't use it"

@Gadget Reboot used to use Altium and we had 5 circuits designs that shared a single PCB layout. you selected the build /number and the circuit was shown with different components as DNF. the BOM was also adjusted as required. So you could say build /1 and the drawing set and BOM were created for that build. Saved a lot of time, the main custom chip was the same but you changed the interface to test different parts of it. We had to re-run weeks of testing each time we changed the revision of the chip. the fun of designing your own chips.

@@TheEmbeddedHobbyist I had a board with a 208 pin QFP FPGA that was only one time programmable (yay early 2000's), so aside from only getting one shot at it per chip, we'd need a special board assembled with a 208 pin socket. It was fun (not) trying to swap chips without bending pins. We also had a clip on test point thing that would clamp down on the top of the part and all 208 pins were sitting there in a grid where we could plug dupont wires on for probing. A lot of hokey measures but it worked. We had a few spare pins too so one thing we did was create a serial output that sent the status of sensors/control bits that we could externally decode in a shift register break out board.
