Such a great tool and I am very excited about the no VBA. I understand the VBA is very powerful but I do not have the head for coding. Excel formulas on the other hand, I love. Thank you so much for sharing. This is the first video from you I have come across and you have 1 more subscriber now.

Hi! it was very helpful and really was looking for something like this for a long time!! Thanks a lot!!! just two question - 1. what if I want to see return value for only a few columns of a specific table instead of the full table? for example - in your table I want to see only designation and salary from accounts department, no other info. 2. How should I modify the formula or structure of the search button if I want to search multiple values instead of one; for example what if I want to search for 2 or more designations (manager and officer) in your table? thanks in advance!

Hi , sorry for the late response. to answer your query, no.1 : you can select which columns to display with the FILTER function by using a CHOOSE function inside the FILTER no.2 : in the practice sheet, insert another search box, link its input search text to cell O2, then change the search formula in the B6 cell as the following:(mark the * operator between tow NOT() functions) =FILTER( MyTable, NOT(ISERROR(SEARCH(N2, MyTable[First Names] & "*" & MyTable[Designation] & "*" & MyTable[Department] & "*" & MyTable[State of Living]))) * NOT(ISERROR(SEARCH(O2, MyTable[First Names] & "*" & MyTable[Designation] & "*" & MyTable[Department] & "*" & MyTable[State of Living]))), "" ) Tell me if that helps!

Thanks for the compliment. Yes of course we can make the search function within the sheet, only thing is that the columns should be different for the search results from the columns containing the raw data.

Thanks for the video! If my cell has >1 words, for example “Assistant Manager” or “Vice President” or “Head of Department”, will the search function works for the second or third word?

What if the excel has the =FILTERXML function alone. is there any other approach to completing the formula now that i am not getting =FILTER function

What if we want the search to be exact otherwise, you don’t want it to show up. For example, what if you just all results of 35 without search box providing all results with 35 (like 35000 in salary) in it.

Reason why I ask is that I’m using your tool for multiple columns with #s. But I want just a specific # but if I type it out, it searches and provides results that contains the search # instead of just that specific one.
