I use these interchangeable hardy tool holders for different size and shape bottom fullers for sheet metal work. Hand forged from 1-1/4" square mild steel bar and hold 3/8" thick (and smaller) leaf springs.

That was some SERIOUS metal moving by hand. Well done!

Thank you! I enjoy doing this heavy forging... Until I get tired anyway. 🤣

Nice work. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week 😎

Hopefully you get great use out of it for many years to come my friend. Forge on. God bless.

Need a tool, make a tool! The mantra of a blacksmith. Nice work! Dig using the twisting wrench for the tap.

Thank you! All my tap handles are too small, or broken, so I'm making do with what I have. Actually, making a tap handle is on my project short list for the next couple weeks after doing this.

Thank you! Yeah, I'm always thinking about how to improve and combine functionality when I make tools. I'll probably need 30-40 different bottom dies or more before all is said and done, and the idea of making that many hardy tools (forged or fabricated) is a little off-putting. lol

Interesting idea! May I suggest forging a tenon on the second half prior to cutting would have made working with it easier for your next bottom tool.

Thank you! If you watch my V-swage video that's exactly what I did in that case. This time I just made sure to leave enough to be easy to work on its own. That second piece is actually earmarked for another project I should get to in the next couple weeks.
