Come along as Jeff and I explore the interesting elevator system at the Intercontinental in Chicago. It's a strange and complex setup that even includes a shuttle elevator that opens right up to the doors of suites on the upper floors.

The swimming pool in this hotel and the Biltmore in Los Angeles are the two most beautiful hotel pools I've ever seen!! I love the utilitarian look of the "new" tower. That was such a 70's thing to do... now days, they'd try to make it look like the original building. Also, I've been in there many times and never once have I seen a single one of those directional lamps inside the cars light up on any elevator. I'd never seen that upper floor tiny elevator before though.

My wife and I stayed there. I noticed there was no "13th floor", according to the elevator's buttons. The pool in this hotel feels like a relic from an older, classy era. It was neat.

Been to this hotel and ridden these elevators, and let me tell you, they are very, very odd. The former elevator photographer I visited these with told me that the doors don't open all the way on the one bank because they used to be manually operated.
