Suzanne Morphew's autopsy has been released by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. It reveals that the Colorado mom of two "died as a result of homicide by unspecified means in the setting of butorphanol, azaperone, and medetomidine intoxication". Let's discuss the latest updates.

Case Background: Suzanne Morphew was last seen on May 10th, 2020 (Mother's Day). On May 6th, 2020, she had sent her husband, Barry, a text that read: "I'm done I could care less what you're up to and have been for years. We just need to figure this out civilly." On May 5th, 2021, Barry Morphew was arrested on charges of murder after deliberation, tampering with physical evidence, and attempting to influence a public servant. On April 19th, 2022, a judge dismissed the case against Barry Morphew. The 11th Judicial District Attorney filed the motion to "dismiss without prejudice" which means that charges could be filed against Barry Morphew at a later date.
After 1236 days, on September 22nd, 2023, remains were located in Moffat, in the Sagauche County in Colorado and were positively identified as Suzanne's on September 27th, 2023. Authorities said that there would be no media updates or interviews related to the latest development in the case. I did the same thing. I thought the best thing was to “work things out civilly”. I never dreamed my ex would do the unspeakable. NOBODY does. Something snapped in my ex. The same thing that happens to many. I was lucky. By the grace of God I lived through it. The lesson is this: DON’T try “being civil”. Don’t EVER give him(or her) that one last ultimatum “I want a divorce unless…” If it gets to the point where and when you think you’ve had enough- GET OUT. Don’t worry about the house, the 401k, even your job (all of that can be worked out) Get out with your sanity intact and with your beating heart. Always error in the side of safety. I found a wonderful and secure shelter. I was so scared but once I got in I felt safe. I could breathe and think clearly. I started over and so can you! Choose life!!

Thank you - I didn't think it was too big of a deal but your right I've NEVER seen a biker wearing a hoodie - especially that you have me thinking about it. I live in the mountains and there are constant bicyclists down one grade or hwy and they are usually wearing neon tight bright clothing. Like spandex top to bottom. I'd assume the off road mountain bikers are the same cause when I've watched extreme sport bicyclists and their on those steep tall ridges they are wearing spandex type clothing as well. There I wear tight clothes that don‘t bear the risk to stick on trea branches etc and I wear a helmet for downhill single trails anyway, so the „hood“ of the hoody would be a risk on trails with trea branches very near to the trail. I think it depends on the kind of biking and also if you‘re a pro or just biking for fun. There’s definitely between the two as for the pro‘s every detail counts to get a good timescore.

Interesting fact: Quintana went missing in May 2023 at the age of 56 while on a hike with her companion. The searches conducted for her have led to the discovery of two bodies, including Suzanne Morphew's and James Montoya's.

It is the second time she had it. She had it during high school and Barry carried her everywhere, i.e., from her bed to the kitchen, etc. That is why she married him. Everything seemed to be okay until they got to Colorado in 2018 and she felt he was having an affair, so she started to have her own. Why she didn't just leave him or never have gone to Colorado. He had to leave Indiana as he had so many lawsuits for bad work, or not finishing work, so he got out of state.

Odd that he said he shot deer for horns, in the spring? Deer don’t have horns, they have antlers. The antlers on deer are largest in the fall and winter, they drop off Jan to April. Does cutting them with a saw hurt the deer? Not when about to drop, but it is twisted as they lose blood and social status. Horns are routinely cut in cattle, for safety reasons

The most fascinating thing about this case is the dna in her car matching the dna of an open unsolved case. It seems that it’s been long enough now that the investigators would have figured out who that DNA belongs to.

Actually, that's not true. They had stated that the DNA was a _partial_ match to DNA in another case. It was later ruled out, I believe, because it turned out to be DNA of the mechanic who had changed her oil and air filters last. He was confirmed to have been out of town when Suzanne disappeared.

He was able to get these drugs in Indiana when they lived there it seems. Perhaps he became friends with a large animal vet through his Elk Club in Salida or perhaps one could have even been a member, and he could get what he needed from he or she. Back in Indiana he had a deer farm so for putting a deer to sleep to work on, Barry would not have a problem getting these medications.

The mother did tell this younger daughter all about the treatment of her father and the daughter wanted her to leave and get herself a place in Salida. But, unfortunately, Suzanne did not mention her own affair which must have been deadly when the daughters heard from their father about it.

Well, I think we were all extremely shocked when we learned the first day of Barry's trial that Suzanne was having an affair since 2018. I know it just seemed beyond the pale. What did these daughters think with Barry telling them all about it - and this Jeff had six children. I don't feel he was into it like she was, as he never made plans with her - well except to take her to bed type thing. But she was wanting to be husband and wife and neither she nor he were even divorced. He didn't even mentioned the affair to anyone until the fall when authorities found him from the spy pen. See where their Michigan home went up for sale in late 2020, late November, or December. He had six children and was a Sr. V.P. with one of the large Pharma companies - maybe Eli Lilly, not sure. Don't know if he lost his job or not.

I believe her husband is guilty too & was gutted when charges were dropped but they didn't have direct evidence to definitely convict so they let him go without prejudice so charges could be brought in the future if specific evidence came to light at a later date. Looks like that day of reckoning has arrived now Suzanne has been found and the cause of her death has been established. I hope he's worried because he should be.

Suzanne’s story reminds me of a lot of Tammy Daybell, (by all accounts both wonderful, loving mothers) in that their children have chosen to be deceived by their murderous fathers. What on earth is it that the world can see that they can’t? These women, who were in the prime of their lives, must be turning in their graves. It’s so so sad, and so infuriating. Chad will most likely pay for murdering Tammy and for his part in killing Lori’s two innocent children, but it really worries me that Barry Morphew will get away scott free. The kids of both of these beautiful women are deluding themselves - the disrespect to their mothers is just heartbreaking. Please let the police not give up on bringing Barry Morphew to justice.

Well Barry was a POS but Jeff should NEVER have been having an affair with SIX children at home. Also Suzanne should never have engaged in an affair with a married man with SIX children! So the DNA match to the sex offender in her car is a partial match only -which you mentioned. The defense is trying to twist it into something it's not. Partial match means that whoever touched the inside of her car is a relative of the suspect in these sex offenses, not the actual sex offender. It could be anybody who went into her car to do maintenance and does not mean that she came in contact with a sex offender, and not necessarily on the day she went missing. Either Barry is the murderer , or he must be the most unluckiest man on the planet as every single thing points to him. I've never seen someone with this much bad luck .
