As someone who works in waste treatment just a correction. The waste isn't throw into the boiler it's throw into a furnace that heats the boiler.

14-15 years ago here in Australia, my two bosses at a cable duct company I worked for asked me what I thought about climate change and global warming and what suggestion I would give to help the situation, I told them I didn't really believe in global warming and climate change, but if I had to come up with an idea I would get rid of rubbish by way of burning it, and somehow turning the burn into energy, they just laughed at me, and asked what would I do with all the toxic fumes from the burnt rubbish, and I said I didn't know and I still don't know, but I guess Turkey figured it out, well done.

This a good idea as long as people do the things these people are doing to reduce emissions while also making use of the ash and metals etc is a great idea and the facility also powers itself with garbage is something I don't hear everyday

First, you don't throw garbage at a boiler, you throw it at a furnace Second, fire gives out thermal energy to boil water and turn a generator, not kinetic energy

India's waste is of low calorific value . Hence, it is not economical to implement it . Also, WTE projects are expensive to install & operate. Only Developed countries can afford this luxury.

Gasification,, plasma gasification, supercritical water gasification etc. Would be more efficient than just incineration. You could also use the produced syngas as feedstock for fuels and chemicals.

The furnace is isolated from any areas where humans could be. If it wasn't, the toxic gases would have been the least of concerns considering extreme temperatures inside of the furnace

Wow this is a great initiative.. I wish we could do this to address the rubbish in Solomon islands. But then I believe it will be expensive. I wish there are more feasible and realistic approach to turn waste into energy in the most affordable way..

This is being done worldwide. I’d be surprised at how many cities have one of these facilities already operating. PS they’re mine blowing really expensive hundreds of billions per facility

No-one would build them if they cost that much. We have a 60MW waste-to-energy incinerator in Dublin that cost $/€500 million.

It doesn't really matter, does it ? It produces electricity. If it wasn't burning trash, it would be burning fossil fuels instead. W2E incinerators do emit more CO₂ per MWh than fossil fuel power plants, but they prevent methane emissions from decomposing waste in landfills.
