Jan Marie Sacramento I love your videos, you inspire and motivate me while I renovate my 1st home. It was a perfectly preserved 70's professionally decorated townhouse, complete with green shag carpet, wall to wall window coverings, green appliances & foil wallpaper, grasscloth, and more! I've redone most of it myself with help, poured a concrete counter, put in New appliances, quartz counters in the kitchen, removed wallpaper for days (they never primed under the paper!) & skim coated the walls, installed flooring, & lots more! Your decorating tips are my go to when I'm trying to make a decision, so thank you. You've saved me $$ and encouraged me to take risks where appropriate. It's coming along & turning out nice. More to do, but I'll get there! At almost 60 I'm still going strong, I can do this! Love your hairstyle in this video, btw. You always look great though! Thanks again!

Hi @letsbefree102030, thanks for commenting. I couldn't agree more about the bullnose edge on the granite countertops. Not my preference either. You will only find it in a project where our clients specifically request it. I find clients of retirement age often prefer function, safety and comfort over more fashionable choices. The Lazy-boy sofas are a result of the same issue. Given the restraints, I think the project turned out well. The clients were and still are, extremely happy :-) RR

Thank you @someone12310, I appreciate your ENCOURAGEMENT! I agree the condo would have been even better had we been able to purchase new furniture. However, the challenge of making their "Lazyboy" furniture look good in the new home was equally fun for me. It motivated me to find art pieces that would tie it all together and take the focus off the furniture pieces. I love to exceed my clients expectations and give them what they want... even if its not my taste. That's what takes talent! RR

@celebskin22 Thank you. The entrance to the kitchen is my favorite design change in this project too. We had to have the pass-through cabinets custom built because no kitchen cabinet company would take on the challenge! Thats what I love about my team of sub-contractors, the have a CANDO attitude... even if they have never done it or seen it before! Very vital part of pulling off my "out of the box" ideas and designs! RR

I enjoy watching your work in progress. I am glad you taped your transformations even from four years ago... Though it is not financially practical for some to hire room designers simply because of the costs involved. It would be really nice to see more "How To" vids similar to the Hilton Hotel segment. Its amazing what a little moving around and some paint can do to a room.... Even us poe folk can do some fixin' like yous do.

Thanks for the compliment @raegzterandcher, but you need to know, it wasn't just one detail that changed... I think the video shows it took a team of dedicated designers and sub-contractors working for 4 months to make hundreds... maybe even thousands of changes... but yes, we were able to keep the furniture and still make a huge difference!

This view of your bedroom is so deco high glamor but the floors seem so rustic. What you have said about transition not withstanding do you have plans to change does the floor work with other views of the bedroom or is this mixing elements. On the remodel I absolutly love the displaycases on either side of the kitchen entrance. I have a problem with angled walls but you turned this into a plus. I wish you had shown more on transforming the hall of doors a walkthrough might have helped

@1Sunrose You and me both!! Every step of the way, I communicated with Mrs. Client so I was relatively confident in my design decisions... My only fear was the red rug! You might notice I used RED touches throughout, so in the event the red rug was a keeper, it would still look good. Fortunately, It never became a deal breaker! Mr. Client loved everything... I suspect he doesn't even remember he even had a red rug! YA! RR
