Nothing is authentic, from her heart. If Japanese minimalism is revered and is the trend then she will do that, if Italian ostentatiousness is looked upon them she’ll make it her home. It’s not style, it’s an ego rampage

She doesn't live there. That's her decoy house. I bet there's another house in the grounds that is just FILLED with stuff that is pink and fluffy and cute - as well as her kids! This is the home she walks everyone around to show off her 'brand'. It's not a home - it's a set.

She never struck me as someone who has good and elegant taste in clothing. Her home decor is just as sad and boring to me. The enormous scale of this home made this design even worse - a massive space of cold and dark nothingness. I too, like many of us, have a chaotic, busy life and would like to come home to a warmly lit place and envelope myself in a soft throw by the fire on a cozy, velvety sofa… I need signs of life and nature in my surroundings. Give me some fragrant, beautiful flowers, a big bowl of fresh fruits, great big and small luscious plants. This place is too sterile and hospital like. No, thank you. Decor styles like Minimalism and Bohemian are too extreme. They’re neither artistic nor practical in my views.

It feels like something in some dystopian nightmare, where you're isolated from any warmth and human connection. It looks like androids would live there. I disagree with D. Daddy in his one compliment that the rooms are calming. They are anything but calming, they are anxiety-inducing.

The flatness actually does the opposite for me. It makes me a little anxious. I think because my mind by default will always be busier than the space and that is too much. I am devoted to the idea of Minimalism as a philosophy. I think of a Buddhist monk whose possessions consist of a bowl, a robe, a cap, and shoes. but remember the monk’s robe may be vermilion or saffron, his bowl carved from a beautiful piece of wood or bamboo, his sandals a deep satisfying brown or black or patchwork. Texture? For sure;think of the robe’s folds. But interior design Minimalism seems to have devolved into a quest for ways to eliminate function, personality, creativity, and comfort. I admire the quality of the craftsmanship and the beauty of the materials in KK’s home, but, ultimately, I wouldn’t want to live there, or even visit for very long.

When I see this house not home but house it’s almost feels like your in a mental state hospital. Children need colors brightness imagine if a child is running around and fall the floors are marble that could be very dangerous for not just children but again if your not running your pretty much safe there’s nothing to trip over. North West has said to Kim that her house is ugly and who lives like this look that up when Kim says how north hurt her when talking about her house. Picture this you as child leaving your house to go to a play date with your friends and there house is a home. Kim’s house says to me no connection, unless there’s more to this house, that hasn’t been viewed.

I had a coworker (on the spectrum) do this. She moved into another person's home, rented out a room. Well, they didn't get along due to Covid habits. So, she rented a one bedroom- with truly nothing. She became temporarily ill, and needed help. Our coworkers went over to her place, and she had a mattress on the floor, with her clothes also in a big on the floor. It wasn't noticeable in another person's filled single family home. She got rid of clothing hangers, dishes, a table & chairs to sit / eat on- everything! Yikes! Minimalism can be artful, it doesn't have to mean totally empty- She should have just rented out a furnished (or partially) furnished place to at least function-

This look is very Axel Vervoodt. A polished wabi - simplicity in design minus the imperfection. The lines of the architectural detail also has the stamp of its designers Oana Stanescu and Dong Ping Wong, a very curvy beige version of the duos all gray linear design of the brand's Off White Singapore show room. Very Kanye I would think. Kardashian though also seems to be leaning towards the less Hollywood LA look that most American mansions seem to prefer as she hired Tadao Ando and Kengo Kuma -for her new home. Two brilliant Japanese designers whose aesthetics tend to lean towards natural materials, organic shapes, and the Japanese minimalistic look.

You hit the nail on the head about the minimalism being all a public front and putting all of the displays of excessive consumption in hidden parts of this humongous mansion. The kitchen is so clean because it is huge, there is I believe an expansive pantry behind the main show kitchen, and a complete commercial-style kitchen in another part of the house where the actual cooking takes place! Additionally, there are multiple closet rooms in her bedroom suite that are in total larger than an average American home, and playrooms/bedrooms where all the kid's toys are hidden. I actually really like the minimal gallery quality, but would fill it with more texture and color through art and furniture. The whitewash plaster finishes and light wood/stone tones throughout are such a nice minimal blank slate that really could showcase more interesting pieces that show some life and personality.

“Creatives”? Really? What is she creating? Her mother controls the entire empire, Kim just shows up and plays her part. There are literally no signs of intelligent life in this home/TV set. Imho, the only thing this soulless space could possibly inspire is a mental breakdown.

I don't understand what anyone would find calming about waiting for the orderly to come in with a straight jacket. This space says " no kids allowed " , also not calming, always watching/washing little hands. Can't imagine being a child there.

Everyone on here be hating on this house, Kim & her parenting style?? It’s her home, she loves it so whats the big deal? And by all accounts her children are loved, fed, clothed, sheltered, educated & doted on. I’m not a KK fan but these comments are really pissing me off & say a lot more about the authors than Kim’s choices.

God forbid her children leave a toy in there. I think Kanye was thinking about starting a church. I think minimalism represents humility and ease of life. Kim referred to this home as a minimalist monastery. I think they were trying to project an image in line with what they were planning.

As I understood it, this was actually Kanye's aesthetic as he really brought in the architects and introduced her to different concepts which became apparent in a joint interview they did. What's missing in from this house? A soul! Not being mean but I get why Kanye as a creative may want a literal black space for all his "genius" ideas to flow but who wants to track every morning from one side of the bathroom to another?

I would get a panic attack from entering this place. Feels like a home Dexter would build? side note : I knew of a lady who had the emptiest bathroom ever - she was storing away everything, soap and towels included, after using it. It felt strange at first, but it was her neat freak zone where she wanted nothing to break her peace, and I got used to the process. But : all other areas were "normal", and the bathroom was small.

The way a persons home is styled says a lot about who they are..even though Kim K says she wants a calming space I think it’s a mask to hide the fact she is stale, lacks depth, flat, empty, cold and soulless from within. Hard to believe from someone so famous and who seems so lively and interesting, but she is actually dead inside and it shows in her home.

I'm not even sure "lacking taste" is quite the right phrase for it. If this space was the headquarters of a company, or a museum, or a spa, the concept wouldn't be quite as bizarre. But as a home, it just feels cold and uninviting and somehow unnerving. Not to mention how impractical it must be, especially for someone who has young children as she does.

Kim! . . . . Having money allows you to create your own unique style, and your HOME IS the most important thing that represents this. It is the space and place that allows you to fall into yourself. A place of serenity mixed with intentional pieces that reflect your personality. A place that others walk into and feel and see something wonderful and different. Something that gives a feeling of warmth and security, and at the same time, creates the WOW FACTOR. Unforgettable, but IN A GOOD WAY! To be honest, I don't think anyone lives in this space. I used to do interior design and the most important thing I expressed to my clients is everything I stated above, and if they didn't know what they wanted or what they liked, I helped them figure it out. A lot of people let a Designer tell them what they like or what they need. KIM! Hire someone, even I would consider this challenge, that can assist you in finding the artist inside you. Everyone deserves to be happy, and I think your home is a good place to start. Clearly, you are not happy in this place. If you were, you would BE HAPPY.

As a Scandinavian-I don't see anything Scandinavian about the space at all, we don't tend to do extreme minimal and don't tend to do all white/beige either , Scandinavian is light to medium wooden floors often raw mat wood , mix between mid century modern (Scandinavian mid cen,) and more contemporary or old/new, rustic/smooth mix usually with black items and or pops of color asymetry is most popular and no it is not always light wood and usually not white sofas ect.
