I love it. Katie’s survival instinct kicked in and she reversed the power mitre saw setup so it was more comfortable for her. Rule of thumb (before you cut it off) if it feels unsafe to you then it is unsafe for you. 👍🏻👍🏻

Suggestion: put a couple of saw horses next to the chop saw, and stack the boards on them so Katie can just slide them onto the saw. 😊

The way you used the various cladding on the exterior looks amazing. The overall appearance is worthy of a “design” spread in a magazine. Super creative… rustic chic. The fact that everything is repurposed, reclaimed, or made by your hand(s) is a win, win, WIN!

Another trick for applying lumber that shrinks is to cover all the studs with black felt paper. It helps keep bugs out and when boards shrink you really don't see anything but black between the boards. Works great with knot holes as well. 😊

Good enough for some goats! That's a real understatement considering a large proportion of humanity would consider that barn LUXURY LIVING, dirt floor and all... You've done a wonderful job and your little goats will be very happy in there! Thanks for the videos, I really love them.

Great, GREAT job on the interior cladding. And all with free timber. Well, you had to fell it, limb it, cut it, haul it and mill it, then square it and size it. So that's a lot of man/woman hours but the material itself was free and you get the immense satisfaction of building a really useful addition to your homestead from the property itself and your own labour. Awesome job!

You two remind me of my wife and I. Bought timberland and cleared a 1/2 acre to build on. Clearing brush, packing poles out by hand and peeling them. All Doug fir. No pine. Poured concrete, laid block, and everything that goes along with that. Together. We are still a good team 43 years later. 😊

Lots of board feet hung on the walls. That big pine came in handy. That barn is going too be a 4 star baby pen for the goats. Once you start making a few pens with walls, its going too be so good. The goats will give you hugs. Hugs from Santa Barbara. 🤗😘🌹🍷🙏✝😎🐣🐐

If you want to hide the gapping as it occurs just run out a layer of tar paper over the whole surface. The black color will hide the gaps. If you leave them open, every critter that wants a nice dark place to hide and multiply will move in and set up habitation.

Wow, that was a small black widow. They are much bigger here in Texas. People call me crazy, but I have a soft spot for these and only these spiders. They get a bad rap and will never bite you unless you corner them with no escape route. Kept one for almost 2 years once. She loved crickets and walked all over me when I took her out. Never got bitten. 😂
