For people who come accross such fraud cases where they end up loosing money like those contractors, at the end u don't have enough for interior design. When u don't have money you can actually plan doing interiors of ur house one room at a time urself by looking at pictures and knowing the exact furniture and color of the wall. You can get a basic white or beige color on all walls then later slowly once u have the budget you can look at having different wallpapers and accent wall colors. This way you end up planing the house really nicely and there is always something new in the house. We ended up in similar situation where we dint have money left to hire anyone so we did a lot of diy and now the house looks very beautiful. We also ended up learning a lot about materials, where to buy and also how to replace them. Whenever someone comes home and appreciate the house decor we end up remembering all the work (jugad) we did together making each space. it was interesting managing this along with a full time job.

Hello Ananya, this is really a marvel of design. Why? You have completely taken care of the budget (after the initial contractor's cheat), and most importantly it is the best minimalistic design which is not going to get outdated soon. Color play is too good. But I would have gone for the most lighter ones. White would have been royal. Even you know that white makes space look big. 😇 Keep designing for everyone. Can you give out a rough estimate of how much cost should we think of, for including certain elements in our home, for instance, how much do this type of false ceiling will cost, how much the wall panels, and what paint goes with what style. Also the texture of it. That part is what I am missing now.

Great design Ananya! Some noob questions: 1. Do you generally keep matte finish in the bottom and glossy in the top cabinets in kitchen? Any reason? 2. I see you do not extend the loft of the wardrobes in the bedrooms over the door? Don't we lose some storage space?

The house looks very pretty. Just one suggestion - If some clients are not very comfortable with speaking English, please encourage them to speak in Hindi while shooting videos. It will be easier for them to express and better for viewers to understand. Hindi is any day a better language than English and we gotta take pride in our language.

Honestly this house would have looked a lot better with lighter shades, when especially at some places the place constraint is stressed the blue accent wall is naah, bed room colors i.e somewhat greenish are like naah ,the grey bed room is nice.
