What do you think of the end result of this home? 🤔🏠
@texasstardust60102 жыл бұрын
....it really added a lot to it, but I think there's a fine line with making things appear " too modern " whilst keeping the charm of the houses' style . I think area rug was needed in the lounge to ground the space, make it more cozy with that beautiful fireplace. The kitchen looks better, but it's a weird location for the sink .. just an observation. I would have tried to open up that wall, if wasn't load bearing, between those 2 kitchen areas. I think a round table in the Dining area would have had a better feel, and with more of a " transitional " design , table and chairs, to keep in step with the cabinet makeover.
@anniehovsepian61732 жыл бұрын
@@texasstardust6010 I agree. The new table was horrendous! A white table in the middle of the room was just horrendous I think the charm of the older table that they had was better than what selfie replaced it with. They should have gone with a round or oval table to give more movable space in the area and yes if the wall between the two wasn't float bearing they should have taken it down but they didn't even check to see if it is or it is a low bearing which was interesting.. buyers need to start using their imagination!
@anniehovsepian61732 жыл бұрын
I think the whole thing with the perspective buyers and the Realtors and everybody else coming in and out is scripted. Highly scripted. Because everybody has the same opinion about the same decor and everything else.
@texasstardust60102 жыл бұрын
@@anniehovsepian6173 .... yes, I concur with parts of it being scripted , and thank you for your reply to my comment. That table is indeed horrendous, lol. They needed to embrace the charm and personality of that home, and let that work it's magic, because the RIGHT BUYER will appreciate it. There's always a right buyer... it seems they want to appeal to too many of the masses ... which I don't get. Universal Law will bring in " the right buyer for the right product at the right time and for the right price. "
@patriciafry86342 жыл бұрын
I agree that a smaller round table would be better, or a rectangular table, but the dark wooden one was totally out of place. A modern white table like the one they put in, but narrower, was called for. Master bedroom a home run.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this house in the first place except that the kitchen is a bit short on prep and storage space. They really had to stretch on this one to find things to change.

I liked the original dining table. Perhaps the wine cupboard could have been stained to match that.
@catezaida80812 жыл бұрын
There is no nice way to say this. So. ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?! You took away a vintage original chandelier and replaced it with a cheap pottery barn knock off??? OMGosh. This is my dream house, just the way it was! Anyone who could not see the potential and the charm, regardless of the starkness, in my opinion, did not deserve the home. The only improvement was in the kitchen and that was questionable at best. That poor home! Glad they sold it, but such a shame with what it was turned into.
@marilynndesilva76202 жыл бұрын
All the dining room needed was a hutch or buffet that coordinated with the original table, not that ugly color they painted the old hutch. The replacement dining set is atrocious and was probably outdated before the sale closed, LOL! Those circular "art" pieces placed randomly on the walls do not complement the stained glass window at all. A landscape or still life would have done nicely. Add some place settings and a bouquet on the table and it's good to go for less cash output.
