Chad, this is a very interesting setting, you really go for it! Love that! I have a suggestion for setting that without a hammer hand-piece, something I do sometimes. You can get that inexpensive modeling material- kind of like Thermolock, but not so pricey; it's called Polly Plastics. There are small plastic pellets that turn to a holding material- just heat in hot water. Hold the ring in a vise in the cooled holding material, and use the punch I sent with your chasing hammer to set thw stone. Sometimes, using the punch with your hammer is even better than the percussion of a hammer hand-piece. It IS really hard to muscle set a sturdy setting like this one. I love the interesting experiment!

Lovely design ❤ Atm I'm makeing a goldpanning pan in silver with a few small pieces of gold in. It's for a customer I met in the World championship in goldpanning last week, she wanted a matching pendant for her ear rings.

I really love this design. I don't have knuckle issues but my fingers do swell alot throughout the day, and I would be so interested to see if a setting like this would help with that. ❤ -Ariel

I bet it would work well with that situation:)

where do you find the jewelry for sale and prices on web site?
@chadssilversmithing2 ай бұрын
Hello Sheila. If you go to my website: cvpsilver.com, you can send me an email regarding which piece you are interested in. If I still have it available, we can arrange the sale!

how do you price your pieces?
@chadssilversmithing2 ай бұрын
Largely by adding cost of materials + hourly wage for myself + do I think it’s a stunner or not:)
@ruby_wired2 ай бұрын
@@chadssilversmithing that makes sense! Haha. I was more wondering about specifics, like should a beginner charge hourly? If it's taking me twice as long to make a piece as an experienced Smith I don't think that makes it more valuable, and it certainly doesn't make the price competitive. What about mark-up, just on materials or time too? I completely respect if you feel it's too private or not the sort of content you want to do, but I'd love to have a rundown on your process some time :) thanks for all the amazing videos!

I think, the stone is set a little bit too high Günther Clemenz /Germany

Thanks Günther! I think that is a fair critique:). I might do it slightly lower next time.
