Here is my (our) first video involving HO scale models. If you are not interested in models skip forward to 9:19 to see the real 1806 pulling a train. Modeling will be creeping in on this channel here and there now that I've got an area set up to shoot. I'm not much for talking though! Anyway here's the saga of my GP16 order... I ordered a regular non sound version of 1806 way back in 2016 before I started doing any modeling. Sometime after I learned the joy of DCC and sound units. Intermountain finally came through 10 years after the run was announced and the dealer I had my preorder with emailed to see if I still wanted the engine, I updated the order to 2 engines since that engine also had been assigned to the RJC Western Ohio Lines but was gone before I started filming trains. 1739 was hit broadside by a grain truck and knocked onto its side. 3 years ago we moved 220 miles away from Western Ohio so I haven't been filming RJ Corman like I used to. The dealer confirmed my new address but somehow still sent the pair of locomotives to Van Wert anyway! I have no way of knowing who ended up with those trains but thankfully the dealer accepted responsibility for the mistake and shipped me replacements. I don't have much of a layout to test units on right now but I used a test module I made recently with hand laid track. I failed to verify the orientation of the camera so my phone shot vertical and the Osmo was out of focus/unusable. I've paired the model shots up with some unreleased footage from last fall. Sorry about the audio, I forgot a battery for my ground camera that I pull the sound from so the clips don't quite fit the scenes but are as close as I could muster. I was lucky though to catch 1806 leading a coal gon storage train. Also 1731 is no longer in service...
Also we updated the endscreen! The last one was almost 2 years old...
