Hello Ibrahim & Ibreez, Would it be more difficult to get into a group 1 subspecialty after a 3-year IM training in your home country? Or to ask this same question differently- would my home country's 3 year internal medicine training make things easier or more difficult if i desire to undertake group 1 subspecialties in the UK? @busragozaydinoglu4844 жыл бұрын
one thing i dont get is: who are you interviewing with? i always thought doctors do interviews with some kind of basic hospital. but as i understand, we actually make interview in order to work in whole deanery, not a specific hospital right? and in those deanery do we try to prefer basic hospital or our rotations or something like that?
@RoadToUK4 жыл бұрын
For training posts there is a panel you interview with that will assess you. Based on this assessment along with your application, you are awarded points. These points are then used to rank your score against those of others, and you then choose your preference of hospitals from a list. Your preference is then weighed against your score and the score of others to determine where you are selected.

I'm talking specifically about London here. I've heard that as a Junior Doctor, you have to change hospitals every 6 months or so and it can be in different locations. So, for those junior doctors, who have a family, do they change rented houses every year based on the hospitals location or is it possible to stay at the same house throughout your training?

It is dependent on the program and deanery, and even if there is some amount of rotation, most doctors find a middle ground to live in as it is never from one end of the country to the other.

The rules are still the same. Choose the same hospitals or hospitals nearby each other when you choose your preferences.
