Was the Perkins engine better,been told they were away better.

@@colmanlong1032 My neighbour had a 574 and a 475 . The 574 (IH 4/239 engine) was rated at 68 hp, The 475 ( Perkins 4/212 ) at 62, but they said the Perkins engine quote:"Would stand a lot more hammer". We had a 674 with The IH 239 rated at 78hp but The MF 168 with the 66hp Perkins 4/236 we had at the same time would leave it standing it pulling loaded trailers of the same size. We traded the 78 hp IH in for a 78 hp Renault (MWM engine) bloody hell what a tractor that was! it felt more like 90 hp.
