Honestly speaking, I have been transformed from a hater to an avid supporter of IPL particularly after watching almost every match of this season and witnessing its exceptional cricket quality. I have a few suggestions to IPL management for making it a true platform for nurturing talents from associate member countries. For example, each IPL team may be asked to sponsor one associate country each during a tournament by enrolling 2 young players from one associate member country, being identified by ICC against a base price of say, ₹ 2 mn each. In this way 10 countries' young talented players will be benefitted and in the process these countries' cricket will be upgraded and these cricketers may take cricket as a successful profession in future. From commercial point of view this step also may be a pathbreaking phenomenon. I want IPL to look beyond boundary. Long live IPL.

With the rise of global franchise leagues there needs to be a governing body for the sport that designates certain time periods for franchise and International tournaments. The ICC is a joke in this respect unfortunately. T20 and the franchises are here to stay, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but as business entities they will always push for more and more revenue; we need an organisation that can keep them in check. Capitalism is fantastic for growth but it needs to be controlled or it will consume everything in pursuit of profit. A global governing body will be able to place sanctions on International teams if their domestic leagues start overstepping their boundaries.

I didnt used to watch much of the ipl really and I am a cricket fan aswell dont get me wrong it is good to watch and it has grown on me however if england are playing in an international match in any format then I would choose that evey day of the week over the ipl personally especially if it is a test match 😁
