Agreed! Thanks!

Good video! I'm not a fan of the newer Cummins engines but that 6.7 sounds good.

MichaelTJD60 There isn't much else on the market now days besides Cummins. There is Detroit, Paccar, Hino,Cummins and Navistar and that's about it. And out of those I prefer Cummins, but most of that is out of ignorance!
@MichaelTJD607 жыл бұрын
Yeah given the choices I still think Cummins is the best of them, but I'm an old CAT guy myself. If I bought a new class 8 truck, it would have to be a glider with a 3406E or C15 475/550 in it. Nothing newer.
@jaysmith14083 жыл бұрын
For those of us who like buying American (as much as possible) Cummins is still American designed, Detroit is just a fascade for Mercedes Benz, OM 934 (DD5) and MBE 926 (DD15) though they are on the way out, and Cummins is taking that over too, Paccar is either renamed Cummins’ (The PX6 and PX7 are ISB’s) or a DAF design (of unknown origins) for the MX13, Hino’s J08E is, well, Toyota, and Navistar’s new A26 is a MAN D26, which by association is a Volkswagen.

Yea my grandpa I love with him and he has a class a cdl but he drives to box truck there his he has a international 4300 dt466 and the freightliner m2 had a mbe900 om906la Mercedes engine that one has 1,000,000 miles and the dt466 has 356,000
@amirkhaled28237 жыл бұрын
Yea I like freightliner and international there good trucks
@jaysmith14083 жыл бұрын
Internationals ride smoother, and have a softer and smoother seat than the M2, are a tad bit more aerodynamic, but they’re great for what they do. The ISB is a bit small, hauling full, pulling hills, and highway running, they’re a bit out of their league (mind you this is the same engine found in a three ton Ram).

I read somewhere the Cummins was responsible for designing the emissions package for the Maxxforce engines. Thus Cummins had a hand in bringing Navistar to their knees and allowing Cummins to take over Diesel engines in medium duty trucks.
@crazyjdkid6 жыл бұрын
Not even! They were essentially rivals. But Cummins would have definitely copied Navistar if their advanced EGR proved successful. Navistar hurt themselves being stubborn thinking they could get around urea fluid. All diesel manufacturers were looking for a solution to the emissions, and once a solution was found most manufacturers followed suit in what worked and Navistar didn't. All the other companies had no problem using urea, like Hino, Izuzu, Paccar, Ford and more. Navistar crippled themselves.

@@crazyjdkid Hino and Isuzu still have almost constant need for regen though. That filter fills up faster than my coffee cup.

Hi dude, next time your in one of trucks, can you check the VIN and find out where they are made. USA or Mex.
@crazyjdkid7 жыл бұрын
callofdutyguy9 Yes I can do that next time! All the International trucks on my channel have been made in Springfield, Ohio and the Freightliners have been made in Santiago Tianguistenco, Mexico! Thanks!

Please how many full turns do you make to make a complete hard right or hard left, I'm trying to calculate the steering range or the steering ratio for International Durastar. Thanks
@crazyjdkid6 жыл бұрын
I couldn't tell you as I don't have the truck right now. Next time I get one I'll be sure to mention it. Kind of an odd question, may I ask why you need this info? Thanks for watching!
@mohamedsadik82106 жыл бұрын
crazyjdkid thanks for your response , it's okay, don't worry about finding the answer to this question, I'll found out soon by searching online, I'm planning to get CDL driving lessons, my school has International Durastar , 6 speed manual, I'm trying to know everything about this truck before I go, I'm learning how to drive it just by watching you how do you steer and drive through corners and curves. Knowing the turning radius or the steering range is very useful to know the tires angle depending on how much I turn the steering wheel, and how many turns are needed to make the truck straight during skill maneuvers and backing.
@crazyjdkid6 жыл бұрын
That's not something to be to concerned about. It's just like driving any other vehicle. You will be able to feel approximately how the wheels are cut when steering. Don't worry about memorization the number of turns lock to lock!

So do you need a cdl for this truck?
@crazyjdkid7 жыл бұрын
Nope! If you are at least 18, have a regular car drivers license and a credit card you can rent and drive one of these. The only truck on my channel that needs a CDL is the Freightliner M2 106 I got from Ryder! Most of the Penske people don't even know they are allowed to rent to someone that young.
@ilike2mow7 жыл бұрын
I just turned 18 and I've got a credit card so I'm gonna rent one haha. I wanna have the experience of driving one, plus helping someone move haha. :)
@crazyjdkid7 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you like driving, driving one of these is very "fun". But I will caution you I have driven a lot of these trucks, my videos often give the impression that its easy. Its not, and can quickly become dangerous and injure/kill someone. You can't see anything behind you, you practically can't see things next to you and you can't see the top of the box above you. Its much different from driving a pickup truck and trailer. You will be saying "eww that was close" a lot! I advise you to get as much insurance as you can on the truck that Penske will give you and stay away from bridges/UTurns/steep driveways/branches/merging onto highways etc!
@ilike2mow7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice :) I will definitely keep that all in mind and be super careful with it.

crazyjdkid ive driven the uhaul 26 foot truck. Its not intimidating after you learn to use angles. And distance

Don't need a CDL for this truck!

Compared to the last one, that just takes off.
@crazyjdkid7 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does better for sure! Still not as peppy as the Freightliner, but definitely better the the MaxxForce DT! Thanks for watching and there will be a live event later!

But I love the Cummins but I don't like the def diesel exhaust fluid
@crazyjdkid7 жыл бұрын
Well, the exhaust fluid is a must now days to ensure clean air for us and future generations to breath!
@jaysmith14083 жыл бұрын
It’s not bad, only that they keep putting it on the wrong side. The pump is ALWAYS on the left side, i had a Hino where the DEF tank was on the correct side, but the fuel tank was on the wrong side, so i had to pull into the pumps, fill the DEF, pull forward, spin around, drive back to the pump the wrong way, fill the diesel, and back out. That could be avoided with twin diesel nozzles, but with the DEF on the wrong side, it’s an utter nuisance, since there aren’t any, haven’t been any, nor will be, any twin DEF hoses at the pump.

crazyjdkid, On my channel, you can watch a video of a 2017 Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 built on the Freightliner M2 Chasis With A Cummins ISB 6.7, and let me tell you, that sucker is not restricted! That baby 0-60's way faster than this truck and the ryder truck. check it out!
