I think the criticism in comments is too harsh. Myanmar women's team is better ranked than us and feel free to check head-to-head stats as well. It's not like we have been defeated 5-0. Some starting 11 players like Manisha and Indumathi are not playing. This is a uoung and relatively inexperienced team so you cannot expect them to start winning against better ranked teams from day 1.

Although I should, the kind of coach and coaching you get at grassroots as well as in the national team, the intensity of games you play in the league, how regularly you play, the intent and seriousness of the federation do mean a lot and are a reflection of what happens on the pitch. Myanmar and its federation has focused worked on women's football and hence, they are getting results. On the other hand, AIFF has been neglecting women's football. They have been a better team than us and we won't get better than them or start showing results overnight if AIFF doesn't get its act straight and focus on women's football and building the national team seriously. First step should be to fire Chauba devi from her role of head coach and hire a competent coach, either someone who did a good job in IWL or a foreign coach with good profile.
