A few notes about this episode. Adrienne Sullivan and Paul Field were the reigning American and British champions, respectively. A thing about the Ladies' Pursuit...I can understand Ice being disqualified as she had never done the event proper before, but what's Jet's excuse for cutting the first corner? She had already done the event three times prior to this show. She should know how this is done by now! Nightshade's loss in The Duel is what we American Gladiator fans call an "Adamle Jinx" where Mike Adamle praises a contender or Gladiator on commentary, only for them to lose immediately afterwards. This shows that the jinx works on both sides of the Atlantic. And I think the Deadly One was more upset about Sully hitting her after the whistle than she was about her undefeated streak ending. BTW, Sully's 45 points here were the highest for a female contender until Peggy Odita's 55 in the following year's International semifinal (yes, THAT one).

Plenty of Gladiators cut the corners on the snake beams. Even Adrienne did a little bit. The bottom line is, Jet never touched the floor with her feet, whilst plenty of other Gladiators, such as Wolf did touch the floor with their feet whilst traversing the snake beams, and John Anderson never said a thing!!!!! And as for the cone at the end of the snake beams, you can tell Jet made a mistake by not running around it, the way how she kinda stopped and hesitated, before continuing after Adrienne, but it was probably because she was so focused on catching her!!!!!
@Will-h7h2 жыл бұрын
With the obvious exception of Wolf it wasn't done intentionally when people cut corners.

How many times did they keep referring to Stass as 'little guy/fella/bear'. How bloody demeaning! 🙄😄 Also RIP to the Gladiators Dynamite (2009), Spartak (2015) & Hawk (2016).

Nightshade wasn't being a very sporting loser there. Needs to practice what she preached about sportsmanship. Maybe she didn't like Adrienne.

@@Will-h7hi like how you omitted the fact that after she slipped and fell partly on to Adriennes platform, Adrienne kept hammering down unnecessary blows on her whilst she was incapacitated. She was rightly annoyed. The fact you don't see that speaks volumes about you.

Looking back now, I think Paul went into this right after the domestic competition and he probably was burned out a bit. In the heat and in the semi his scoring was lower than usual and he had 2 second leads on Eliminator. He picked up the pace more in the final because he had to keep up with Wes.
@Will-h7h Жыл бұрын
I think Paul was just as motivated when he faced Kyler, he scored on every event except Suspension Bridge where he wasn't helped by how the bridge swung. Feel like when he faced Stass he knew it was unlikely he'd lose so took it a bit easier than usual.

In Duel, why Adrienne continued hitting Nightshade after she stepped over. Also, I don't think Nightshade would've lost the match to Adrienne, she lost only because she spent all her energy on her first match with Riikka.
@AmaanStorm6 ай бұрын
Totally agree. The fact the Gladiators had to battle both contestants wasn't very fair. The first contestant had it harder as the Gladiator is fresher. Nightshade would've destroyed Adriene had she gone first.

@nathanbyberg Жыл бұрын
Since it was international gladiators, I bet they wanted the contenders to challenge the gladiators that weren’t from their home countries, so that’s my guess why they both battled Sabre

If PENALTIES were in place for Pursuit this would be the official scores: For the Girls: Riikka had 3 PENALTIES on The Snake-Beam and with Ice DQ for GOING THE WRONG WAY ROUND THE CONE AFTER THE SNAKE-BEAM she would've scored 2 POINTS, Adrienne had A COMPLETELY CLEAR RUN so scored 10 POINTS. For the Boys:- Stass had A COMPLETELY CLEAR RUN so scored 5 POINTS, and Paul also had A COMPLETELY CLEAR RUN so scored 10 POINTS. Note:- Paul in this Pursuit looked as fast as Matt Beake who he defeated in the 1994 Quarter-Final.
