Boy does this bring back memories. I really liked the 4166 & the 1482 pull type combine. I spent 100's of hours in a 4166 when I was younger & Also used a 1482. That 4166 was our first 4 wheel drive & our first tractor with air conditioning. We thought we had it made with that tractor.

There were fairly common on the praries. It was a way for smaller farmers to get a 4wd and a descent size combine.

The only 3 things nobody in this world has enough money to buy from me is, my late father in laws Pioneer farmsaw, my late father and grandfather's farmall 200 and my Springer Spaniel. I still put about 200 hours a year on my old 200 , rake hay, harrow and cultivate the garden and use a belt drive feed grinder. Love farmalls .

Why are some tractors named International and some Farmhall?
@jimfarmall28987 жыл бұрын
Well Kenneth, it kinda is a play on words, the first tractor that was made for row crops was called a Farmall,of course you could use it in wheat country too, well later Mother Harvester built the W series, a tad shorter and squatier and that was used in the big wheat area's of Montana, western Canada, and parts of North Dakota. They had a non adjustable front end, and rear end for that matter, so it would probably run over most of the corn. Hope this helps !
@jimfarmall28987 жыл бұрын
Oh and the W series is better know as wheatlands, and they have International on the hood.

I must confess. I may be seen as a bad person but I must confess I'm a racist! I can't stand any other piece of farm equipment that's not INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO.! My first IHC driven was. 10-20 my last was a 2+2. My family has owned the following...400, 450, 560, 806, 856, 1206, 1256, 1456, 4100, plus the 2+2 We had a sad day when IHC sold out. I remember my dad telling me the news. Seemed like yesterday. Our dealer said nothing will change! Boy was that a joke. Thanks for your videos.

The 4166 is one of my favorite tractors at the start of this video . They are hard to find these days. It is on my top 5 wish list to find and film right behind a Allis-Chalmers D21. While I do not have a full 4166 video yet I do have footage of the 1482 combine harvesting soybeans posted at kzbin.info/www/bejne/jH3SdYGmpJxjj9E I also have an IH tractors history video posted at kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqbRnGmPr9ScY6s There is also a video I have on 90 years of red tractors from 1939 to 2019 at kzbin.info/www/bejne/h52zY6alZrGMiac

The picture you see for this video is the 4166. You skip over or skip past that tractor and that's false advertising. Don't have a great tractor in the picture and then not show it. That's cheesy.
@bigtractorpower6 жыл бұрын
I am sorry you did not like the video. At the time this video was made KZbin picked the thumbnail based on the longest focus of the video. The 4166 and 1482 are featured from minute 7:07 to 8:08. The 4166 is one of my all time favorite tractors. I just wanted to give a walking tour of the tractors at the event. If you like seeing and hearing IH tractors at work I think you might like the video I made showing 80 years of Red Row crop tractors from the Farmall M to the Magnum 380. It features 20 tractors from 1939 to today. See that video at m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/h52zY6alZrGMiac

I love your videos and enjoy watching and apologize. I did not mean to sound so negative. I saw that 4166 and got real excited. Just like a kid in the candy store I see candy and run over there and its Brussel sprouts and spinach.

I totally understand. I want to film a 4166 working. It’s one of my all time favorites. Unfortunately have not found one yet other than this one on display is the only one I have found. In time one will show up to film. Thank you for watching.

Thanks for the info and the video. I am a subscriber so I will keep watching and checking out all the awesome tractors. Do you happen to know the year model of that 4166. Thought I read that the 4166 was built 72-76 and the 4186 was 76-78. I like the 4186 as well. Probably hard to find either one. Those are great looking tractors.
