I know the Crisscross Voltas in regular form, so this variation is called "Crisscross Voltas With Extra Lady's Volta Spin." But I did not know that this is actually a spiral spin. Different from the traditional "Spot Volta" in Bronze level Modern Samba.

Hello, i just wanna say that this beautifull presentation is what they call "International Ballroom Samba", a type of european dance that was developed from Maxixe - a extinct type of african-brazilian culture - not from samba. All the things that happen in samba culture for the last 70 years are still a unexplored field for europeans. Its time to explore it! Look for samba de gafieira (Jimmy de oliveira) in internet. It would be great to have a real samba version of samba in europe!

@Dancetjon: spammers? What is spam is these videos of what is NOT samba dancing to a some random caribbean songs in spanish which are NOT samba music, which for some reason foreigners decided to call samba. "their ugly version". You may find it ugly, but it´s more beautiful than this "ballroom samba" frankenstein thing. And it´s not a "version". It´s the REAL thing, because samba IS brazilian.

dancetjoen My response is right above yours. Your question is naive and childish: anyone can say something is ugly or beautifull. Even a parrot can do it, and what do you prove by it? But, on the other hand, more than one german magazine have different oppinion than yours, and you should listen to them: they find "brasil brasileiro" show a marvelous expression of art. I think you are alone in your opinion. Its obvious that samba de gafieira is beautifull. Other wise it would not be so popular in your own countrie, and brazilian carnival would not be the most sucessfull party of the whole world. What you have to say about that: ".. : morrer besten Tanzer zergen ihre mostrar" Brasil brasileiro "Und beweisen:. Samba ist mehr als nur ein Tanz" Anyway, to argue that something is beautifull or not is allways subjective, and the fact that you want to argue that just show your childish nature. Samba de gafieira is more than just beautiful: it is culturally relevant, and it has personality, expression, authenticity and criativity. Thats way more than you can say about "international ballroom dancing". But i can respond you again, i dont mind: samba de gafieira has an artistic value that your ballroom dance will never have, because B. International is just an artificial laboratory dance, with no spirit, no personality, and only a bunch of steriotypes of cultures that you guys do not understand at all. Maybe if you dance to Schulz you could make a good image of yourself, but your attempt to dance to samba makes you look like one circus dancing bear with a ballet skirt. Now Your confusion about samba steps and argentinians steps is hilarious. Its really funny that you still use this as an argument. So, do you think that because some european brought some maxixe steps 80 years ago, you guys have the essence of brazilian dance? Dont be a fool. You do think that what caracterizes the unity and the autheticity of the dance is the movements! You should learn that movements are allways changing, exchanging, being borrowed. Argentine and brazil are neighboors, and there is argentines dancing in brazilian social events, and also brazilians dancing in argentinian social events. So, its clear that our two traditional dances would have similar structures. And thats just normal in every art. If someone wants to do a antient greek movement dancing to zouk, there is nothing preventing it. What makes a dance authentic is the fidelity to the spirit and personality of the music, the correspondence to the swing. Thats why your ballroom dancers never dance to samba: because they look like russian bailarinas listening to the swing of calypso. Simple as that. Before you talk about the basic structure of samba dance, you should study the swing of samba music, the personality of african movements of Bahia, the swagger and trickery of carica personality. Otherwise you will be allways just dancing bears presenting your own bullshit championships. with your own european criteria, trying to steal other cultures to compensate to your lack of criativity and dance energy. Its never late! Buy a ticket! ;)

dancetjoen Ok, i tried to have a honest conversation with you, but every time is the same: you came with the ultragious and ridiculous fictional ideia that you, GERMANS, traditional dancers of schulz, are the creators of samba de gafieira! This is like talking to a lunatic. You look like the morons that believe in et's or loch ness monsters. Maybe you are talking about a hidden truth saved by your family for four generations, and only you guys were sucessful in hide from the whole world the fact that samba is actually created in europe - maybe in your own basement - and later you guys exported to brazil, convince the whole world that brazilians invented, and, finally, in the most pathetic conclusion of all narratives, you guys brought again to europe and sold it as a brazilian art again! hahahahaha...you really make me laught out loud... anyway, i already give you a thousand chances to prove this stupidic statement, and, of course, you cant. Just sad to see what a old creature would submit himself just to denied that his whole life was based in a parasite culture, a laboratory copy with no creativity, no spirit, no personality and no dance energy. Just sad. Once again, you dont even deserve a response, and i will just present (again) three videos of the history of samba and real ballroom samba (from canada, france and london bbc) to refute your psychotic claims and to teach you something. Oh, and do not forget to buy your ticket. The public and the magazines from your countrie are loving it - the reviews are impressively good, and, as allways, brazilian culture is showing why so many incompetents around the world wants to imitate us... ;)

dancetjoen Really? Galileu and Darwin? You really want to make me laugh to death, right? Its almost working. For sure, you should seek the nearest psychologist. The signs do not lie: the asylum is full of people who think they're Napoleon. Right now, you had the psychotic audacity to invoke the name of Galileo. How old are you, really? I do not know what surprises me most. Whether it is the chronic childishness included in your anxiety to prove something to yourself, or whether it is the courage to proclaim that your whimsical speculation, your baseless fictions, without any reference whatsoever, plus your complete lack of systematic study and even your lack of security and your argumentative unpreparedness, could be compared to the great men of the past, whom you insult with your claim. Of course your case is pathological: you believe that the whole world failed to discover your truth. Predictable: thats what happen when you base your whole life in a lie. You start to feel like vigarist, and must suck to live your life knowing thats exactly what you are. Never mind. Its never late. Watch the documentaries, visit brazil, visit africa, Angola - the origin of the candomble and batuque swing - and be faithfull to your own traditions: schultz, polka, etc! Buy your ticket to see "brasil brasileiro". You still have a chance.
