What a cool tournament format, very curious what insights you learned from it

@@008TheDen speed, space awereness and keeping distance are key. There is a lot of adrenaline in there. Very difficult though. Unfortunately I rarely have the opportunity to train this particular competition and surely experiencing it more would make a better fighter. But it is something I would totally invite all HEMA fencers to try. It gives you a whole different perception on fighting

Kinda hard to say for sure as it's mostly hazy throughout most of the video, but it's most likely the Blackfencer Montante. In the video the material for the nylon blade is white but since around September of 2020 the material composition has been improved and the color changed into grey. Anyway look it up, Blackfencer Montante V4.

You can pretty easy and cheaply build one yourself, out of pvc pipe and some soft padding. It'll be soft and relatively light, at the same time being able to deliver quite decent blows

What is the ruleset? Why not more protection?
@thespadoneproject53529 ай бұрын
The sword was heavily padded and was considered safe enough, and it was. Mobility was favored in order to leave the participants free to move as fast as possible. However who wanted to could use more protections. The rule set was: 1 hit and the picador is out, 2 hits on the montantero and he is out. 2 min max, if I remember correctly. Points were assigned according to hit given and taken and to survivors. No real game perimeter, the tournament was an experiment.
