Hey Werner, first of all thanks for your question, now lets move on to your question, state plays the most significant role in International political economy, although non-state actors also play an important role but there reach and control on international economy and international politics is limited. Political actions of the states changes the monetary flow and affects economic condition of the state itself plus due to globalization it affects other states actions as well. Its also the state that uses economy as a tool for gaining political advantage in the international arena
