International political economy studies problems that arise from or are affected by the interaction of international politics, international economics, and different social systems (e.g., capitalism and socialism) and societal groups (e.g., farmers at the local level, different ethnic groups in a country, immigrants in a region such as the European Union, and the poor who exist transnationally in all countries). It explores a set of related questions (“problematique”) that arise from issues such as international trade, international finance, relations between wealthier and poorer countries, the role of multinational corporations, and the problems of hegemony (the dominance, either physical or cultural, of one country over part or all of the world), along with the consequences of economic globalization.

*Takeaway* Politics and economy are interwined. Political actions are driven by economy and vice versa. This intricate relation of economy in context of international politics is called International political economy. After WW1, all major countries including germany, france, the UK, japan and russia fell into worst economic crises. The US being a continental country worked on massive production of industry. Massive industrial production of the US required large number of consumers. However, US exports could not get enough in return from trade partners. So US applied tarrifs on imports from other countries after the great depression which started in Oct 1929. Smoot and Hawley tarrif was one of the worst tarrifs of the US which hindered the import of raw silk from Japan. In retaliation, Japan attacked on the US port of pearl harbour in 1941 due to frustration of smoot and hawley tarrif. So in this case the political action of war was started by Japan due to frustration of economic crises. Another instance is of six days war of 1967 between Israel and several Arab states including Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Palestine. The US and the European Union supported Israel in Youm e Kipoor war. In response, the warring arab states comprising of OPEC (Org of petroleum exporting countries) halted oil supply to the EU which is famously known as the oil embargo of 1973. In another illustration, Global financial crises of 2007-8 which was ignited from a mismangement of finances in housing societies of EU states finally led to arab spring. EU could not return back the payment of purchased oil to the middle eastern countries. In return agitation campaigns started in the arab states due to economic crisis through social media which finally led to the regimes' change in several arab states. Several other concepts of IPE includes Mercantalism, protectionism, marxism and others.

WW1 was a political incident, after the war, the countries involved in war became extremely affected economically, so after the war, all the countries had the main concern to raise their economy.... Many countries like America, Japan adopted the policy to focus on their on economy and any free trade, and major taxes tarrifs were impose, leading to the the great depression of 1921

American had stopped the import of silk of Japan due to tax tarrifs, so the economy of Japan was collapsed, japan' s economy slowly and gradually start collapsing as a result Japan attacked palhrbour causing America to start destruction including nuclear attacks
