omelet rice aka "omurice" is the quintessential "kid's food" in Japan much like mac n cheese or chicken tenders, often with a cute message or picture drawn in ketchup on it. It's very much a comfort food for a lot of Japanese adults as well.

What Rhett described in the mystery round about the rice dish he saw on TikTok which is served in a pot then flipped onto a big dish, I am 100% sure that what he saw is Maqlooba which is a Jordanian/Palestinian rice dish that is served exactly this way. It usually consists of Cauliflower or Eggplant(or both), rice and Chicken(sometimes lamb). I am Jordanian and I once flipped a pot of Maqlooba.
