In this video you will see the North Eastern Hill University International Students Hostel.
The hostel is amazing and the facilities are great. It is located within the campus next to the Old Guest House.
The hostel is like a bachelor pad i.e. a room, bathroom, kitchen and balcony.
The hostel also provides beds, pillows, blankets, cleaners, security, geysers, fridge, microwave, kettle, heater and a LAN port along with WiFi
It can create a lovely studying environment.

Unfortunately I couldn't provide any of that information because of lockdown I could not enter the local hostel to record. From my knowledge.. local hostel is +- Rs6500 per year, rooms are on a sharing basis for PG scholars and for most PhD scholars, they have their own room. Bathrooms are communal. PhD may be allowed to cook in their rooms (I stand to be corrected on this)..

@@RahulKumar-eg3hs U need to clear NET exam or PhD entrance of specific university to get an admission...some universities keep entrance optional if u r NET or JRF and some universities require both , I mean ..demands to crack entrance even if u r NET qualified ...it depends which university u r interested in... further selection leads by the interview process...

Unfortunately local Indian students cannot stay at the International Hostel even if there are rooms, this is probably due to research persons and students who may arrive later than usual and the rooms are less.. For local students there are multiple hostels within campus and all are fairly cheap for the entire year (roughly Rs.6000 per year).. The fees for semester vary according to your stream but it is very affordable for Indian students as it is a central university. (international students have fees which are like 10x more and charged in USD).. I can try to get you the specific fees if you need .. required information would be the course and level of study

Hi Alie ...B.A is done through affiliated colleges.. M.A is done through nehu main campus ... So for B.A you will have to find the affiliated colleges like St. Edmunds, St. Anthony's, Shillong College etc ..they will have their own hostels and fees as well according to their own rules ...for MA you can apply to NEHU

Hi, thanks for watching...be sure to subscribe and check out the other videos on my channel. Hostel seats are limited and since you are from UP, you will have to apply for the local hostel. There is accommodation outside the hostel premises which is affordable as well. Local hostels are on a sharing basis for UG and PG courses as far as I know.

No, only if your stream is done at NEHU main campus then you will get. Most UG degrees are done through NEHU affiliated colleges so those college have their own accomodations..

NEHU does have guest houses but is needs to be authorized for booking... Unfortunately, as an outsider you will not be able to book the guest house unless you know someone at NEHU.

@@niidhii1915 a letter of application is required...but it usually has to be signed by faculty of NEHU...then handed in at the administration block in NEHU...a guy there approves or declines it... Since you're not from NEHU, I doubt you can book but your program organizer would be able to make arrangements for all the attendees.

It was about RS.6000 per year for the hostel and I'm not sure about the mess but it was very cheap. Admission fees are also very cheap and change according to the course which you are applying for but it's affordable. Best to contact the department you want to apply to and ask them the updated fee structure 😊

@@browngirlisha9960 BBA is not done in NEHU campus...it is done through any of their affiliated colleges in Shillong. The NEHU campus mostly handles Masters courses and PHD. You can just Google search NEHU affiliated colleges and you'll get a whole list, contact any one of them and they would be able to help you ☺️. Hi Ruhanika, thank you for watching.. The local hostel is generally on a shared basis basis but there are single rooms as well. The local hostel it is way cheaper (+- Rs. 6000 per year excl. food, I stand to be corrected but that is the rough price). I'm not too sure how the inside is because I haven't entered any as yet but from what I've heard they are very simple rooms with a bed, study table and a wardrobe. This hostel is only for international students and because of the facilities the fees are much higher... Local students aren't permitted to stay here but if you have a friend then maybe a night or two may be possible with relevant permission. Please do like , subscribe and check out the other videos 😊

Exams are hard and marks for alot of papers are an issue .. overall it was a great experience to study in a foreign country though I am of Indian descent.. It's worth studying because the it's a recognised central university, so the degree carries alot more weight.. Are you looking to study ?
