For when it's really cold, get a good blanket and drape it over the front seat and attach it to that back shelf you have. That will have keep the chilly air in the car off you, think of it as making yourself a little tent over you in the car.

@SUVRVing8 жыл бұрын
Hmm. I'm allergic to cats, so I haven't spent a ton of time around them, and I don't quite know what they need. Maybe you could have the litter box at the foot area in front of one of the seats. And set up a scratching post maybe so that they don't claw the interior of your vehicle to death? I don't know. Sorry I can't be of more help!
@BonnetClaw8 жыл бұрын
No worries...I'm open to all suggestions. The scratching post is a good idea. My seats are fairly new, so I'm really worried about scratching. I'm thinking of confining them to a playpen and then taking them for walks in a stroller for exercise. Thanks for taking the time to respond :)

Love the videos. For the condensation, have you ever considered wind deflectors for the windows? I don't have them but it seems like you could lower the window a bit even in rain without it coming into the car.
@SUVRVing8 жыл бұрын
I actually do have the wind deflectors on my windows, and I did have the windows rolled down a bit that night. But depending on temperature, air flow, humidity, etc., sometimes it still condensates inside the SUV. Thanks for the comment, and I'm glad you like the videos!

Some cool trivia! (Heat transfer) Ice on your windshield does not always mean it got down to freezing. But how is that possible? Heat goes from hot to cold. The air temperature could be in the upper thirties, but outer space is near zero degrees kelvin. So the heat from your windshield radiates to outer space since it is colder and heat goes from hot to cold. If the sky is cloudless and there is little wind, you can get thick frost on your windshield even though the air temperature never got below freezing. Park under the shade of a tree (or clouds) and you will not see the same frost, that's because the tree shaded you and prevented the heat radiating to outer space.

I like your food choices that do not require refrigeration. I originally planned on being a full-time vandweller and boondocking for weeks at a time off grid with a refrigerator. I now have a Mini-SUV and plan to just do 1-2 day or 1-2 week trips. Space is crucial and a refrigerator is out of the question. Having mostly non-perishables with occasional trips to town for perishable items to be eaten the same day is my plan too. Careful with anything wrapped in cellophane. They usually contain too many bad carbs, sugar and fat. e.g. Granola bars etc. are not all that healthy.
@SUVRVing6 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I'm not really looking for healthy foods when I travel like this. I burn so many calories with my hikes and other activities that I'm just looking for fuel that's easy to digest! Thanks for watching.
@susie98935 жыл бұрын
I really don't think that's the point when it comes to health (re carbs). Over time all those sugars damage your immune system especially when you're not counterbalancing with, dare I say it? VEGETABLES. But I get it, you're a guy and you're young - you think you're invincible 🙄

SUV RVing ...ok I have to tell you that I have just been researching that again and someone has said that apparently if it is raining, and your windows are waxed then the windows can all the sudden haze up so it could be a danger...but that person has never had a problem so maybe it has to do with the temperature and type and/or amount of wax...so I don't know about this. let me me if you want, if you find out anything you recommend. thanks.

That's a tough one. If I were somewhere accessible and had phone service, I'd call a tow truck. Otherwise, I'd probably go around to the people camping nearby to see if they could help by either figuring out what was wrong or by giving me a lift into the closest outpost of civilization, where I'd try to find a tow truck.

Keep watching my other videos. I have pizza plenty of times :) I usually get one from Domino's with feta cheese, black olives, and jalapenos.
@teakertown7 жыл бұрын
SUV RVing ...that sounds really good but I have eaten feta cheese before and it doesn't have any taste to me. I usually go for blue cheese because of this..I wonder how that would taste on the pizza. Domino's Pizza is my favorite. but Little Caesars Pizza is ok too and five bucks and "hot and ready". problem is I can only eat two pieces at a time so I don't know about storing it in my vehicle.
@SUVRVing7 жыл бұрын
I'm not the biggest blue cheese fan, but I know that a lot of people like to dip their pizza crusts in it, so I assume that it would be good on the pizza itself. You definitely can't go wrong with a $5 Hot-n-Ready from Little Caesar's, but I've been getting Domino's more often now that they have the $7.99 large 3-topping deal all the time. If I'm hungry, I can eat the whole pizza in one sitting, no problem, but I usually have 2 or 3 pieces left over. If I could only eat a couple pieces at a time and had to store the rest, I'd just get a cooler, put the pizza slices in a large Ziploc bag or two, and then toss the bag into the cooler. Either eat the pizza cold (which I like, but not everyone does) or I guess you could heat it up in a pan on a little camp stove.
@teakertown7 жыл бұрын
SUV RVing ....oh thanks...for some reason I just saw your reply now.
