that part about fragile people who feel excluded that their ethnicity don't have a slur and that it's unfair that only other people get to be the victim was actually a pretty good point. though i personally think it's defensive, people (especially conservative) suddenly learning about racist structures and institutions of the system they grew up in and never questioned, feels like an attack because it opens the possibility that they've been participating in something unethical this entire time. and people like to think of themselves as good. meaning it's basically a really childish cope from a group of people who have gotten used to getting respect everywhere they went. when you're used to privilege then equality feels like opression.

Erik at 6:22 hit the nail on the head. And I hope "peckerwood" catches on, that's hilarious. Yoink! Edit: I just realized I'm already wearing the narfi shirt!

I caught a peckerwood once, and almost ended up in a fight with some black teenagers until some older pimp came along and basically told them they were idiots and to scram. They listened to him. Then I told him how to build his credit. True story.

As a BM I feel it's about intent. If you're singing NWA what to I expect? But if you're just saying it cos it's a Tuesday. Now we got an issue. I feel the same way about cracker. Idgaf if anyone's offended if your intent was to hurt someone you're a POS and eff you.
@Nikenik20012 жыл бұрын
Anything can be an insult if it's meant as an insult. "You're in the way!" or honking in traffic or hanging up on someone. Or it can be that someone's warning you about something concerned for your safety, a friendly honk in recognition or celebration or just dropping the phone during a conversation... It would be funny to ban honking in traffic because it's an insult though... and turning left, because it's communist.

I'm Asian, so I can't say what a white person should or shouldn't be offended by, but it is a slur. Comparing it to the N word is dumb, there are plenty of slurs that aren't on the tier of the N word but are still slurs. Slur literally just means any pejorative meant to be disrespectful, and comparing someone to a slaver is exactly that. And it's not just Cracker, or race-based insults that are considered slurs. Even idiot, moron, lame, etc are considered slurs now... and in some places on the internet they will get you banned for being ableist. Trap, a term weebs use to refer to male anime characters who identify as male but dress like females (aka drag), is considered a transphobic slur even when used in a context wholely unrelated to trans people. Though apparently "chink" is fine to say, as many people kept saying "lmao LeBron James has a chink in his armor" after NBA teams were simping for China. The reality is, it's all slurs. If it had to be "as bad" as the N word, which you can't even say, then most things we consider slurs wouldn't be slurs. But they are. Perchance.
