Mine was hardwired through a router, but I don't think it matters since we are switching the modem.

Hardwire is a direct, uninterrupted connection, giving fastest speed . Wifi can be slower or faster, depending on how far devices are apart. If devices are low quality, that can affect speed also, whether hardwired or wifi. Low quality cables to hardwire devices can affect speed also.

Question I just bought the same modem. I already own a eero Pro 6 E can I still use it with this. Because I have it at different spots around my house.

If you bought the same one as me. then you bought a modem. Not a Wireless Router. You only need 1 modem in your house, but you can potentially have multiple wireless router and hotspots.

yes, you need to plug in the coax cable for the internet to come in.

@@FlameMing I just went to 1 Gig. from 100 Mgb. WIFI will handle it. Modem was just 300 Mgb. Could that be why I keep losing internet connection. Before I upgraded was not losing connection as now.

@@charlescoker7752 If you upgraded the modem and started to drop connection frequently. It could be a compatibility issue or the modem just a dud. I'd suggest to try a different modem from Amazon. and go for a DOCSIS 3.1

So, what do you do to add your own modem to Spectrum with Spectrum voice service? Splitter?

@@FlameMing I think one could simply add a splitter so both devices get signal. Then the router gets plugged into the Router internet port. The only thing that stays plugged into the ISP Modem would be the COAX and the voice line. I know that that 2 modems can exist as I just did a job to finish a mesh system and the mesh router was on a splitter and ISP was still active. The point here is that the ISP routers are all low budget and the ISP will never upgrade unless there is a failure.

Can you buy any modem of your choosing, or do I have to purchase any specific modem? I'm on charter also,just in michigan.

My area doesn't have Cox so I don't have experience with it. But I believe it would be a similar experience, just different websites.
