I’m stuck between technology and business. I’ve been told I have a talent for communication. Assume that’s true, what skills would you suggest I focus on building? And what career path?

I would decide for myself first where my passion is and if the career path of either one aligns. I am not saying follow your passion at all cost, but depending on what your long-term goals are it could be the right step (but so could be the other direction). With that being said, do a job search on roles a business partner in IT. It is an up and coming concept where IT partners with the business and it leads to better project outcomes and better service delivery. In those roles, you need both - business and technology skills.

That is more about the sprinkler controller. Something like WYZE and Rachio and others are already making.
