Here's my ideas: 1. Why MKBHD's Audience Turned On Him 2. The Rise, Fall & Redemption of MKBHD 3. The Moment MKBHD's Audience Turned On Him 4. Far too many people had to adopt that stance as a core facet of their entire personality while defending Tesla. I've known multiple Tesla stans who admitted that they blindly defended Tesla because they believed that Tesla was changing the world for the better, therefore vehemently defending public criticisms of Tesla, even valid criticisms, was justified because negative press put the entire movement at risk. We've since seen that rampant fanboyism spill over into the rest of the tech industry. Just take a moment to think about the many differences between crypto bros, Tesla/Elon bros and AI bros and then admit that they're all basically the same person.

The funny thing is that there were two companies that both released a similar product of a wearable A1 within weeks of each other that Marques tested both. Humane A1 and Rabbit R1 and he slammed them both. There’s no way that both company’s went out of business purely due to him and his bad review (although it can’t have helped). Not long after MKBHD posted his video about the Rabbit one, Coffeezilla did a couple of videos (on both of his channels) exposing the company for being total scam and doing all sorts of shit like stealing money etc. So yeah the company may have lasted slightly longer without Marques review, but not too much longer as someone would have spotted the issues with the company selling those ones anyway! The Humane product was simply ill conceived, was only half finished upon release and really had no use as it was trying to replace the smartphone but couldn’t do half the stuff you want a phone for eg use the calendar etc. It was just a bad idea and wasn’t going to sell much regardless of what was said about it, unless it was literally magic and made you a magician! The videoes coffee did got a decent amount of video views wise and yet Marques still got shit and didn’t really appear to get any apologies from his “fans” who said all sorts of shit to him in defence of these 😮awful companies selling either half completed products or products that don’t work from a company that’s fraudulent! (I see or hear about this/people mass retracting their comments made towards/sent to him about his review on the “worst product” video at minimum anyway but then I don’t really watch him and heard about this general shit from other places and the coffee videos…) It’s utter madness!

@elixer882 күн бұрын
Reviewers should ALWAYS be honest about what they are reviewing, and him doing so is what made him so well trusted. Bad products kill companies, not bad reviews. People hating him for "making the stock prices go down" are likely either shills or people who invested FAR too much of their own capital into the product, not realizing that investing in startups like that IS a big gamble, and to never gamble more than you can afford to lose. As for the speeding thing... Yeah, he f'ed up. He also appears to have learned from it, and most importantly isn't denying it; while some could see him removing it from the video as "hiding" it, the segment was effectively B-roll video and didn't need to be there, so removing it was the right play. Nothing is forgotten on the internet either way. Though that was still somewhat recent, we'll have to see how he behaves going forward. On the other hand, if that video also got him into deep legal trouble, it's a great example of FAFO and I would have no sympathies for him on it.

Companies need to stop releasing unfinished products. This practice is already rampant in the gaming industry but releasing a CAR, something that people use on a daily basis and carries reasonable risk of danger if the car doesn’t operate as it should, Fisker is honestly lucky they didn’t get hit with a lawsuit. You can’t just promise and update and expect everything to be cool.

You forgot to mention how MKBG gargled Apple's balls in some videos, especially the one where he visited their factory. MKBHD is far from the bad guy, but for a long time he was hailed as one of the very very few honest tech reviewers, now to a not-so-dishonest tech reviewer. The damage to his image has already been done and his reputation is already mudded, but truth be told he did take accountability and is willing to change, which is way more important than just acting like an honest person. I do appreciate he's evolving.

If you're going to put out your product before it's finished, don't be surprised when consumers are dissatisfied. Aside from the speeding all the hate he got was completely unfair. For so long companies have tricked us consumers with sponsored reviews and " bride" ppl to talk positive about their products to sell us crap. And when a content creator finally decided to be against it and the company had to face consequences of the quality of their products they started crying. We need more ppl like mkbhd (that know how to respect speed limits) to protect us consumers from these companies

97 in a 35 is beyond reckless. In those types of zones you expect a lot of pedestrians and little time to react. Not sure you'd feel this way if he ran over a loved one of yours. Btw at that speed it's a death sentence. Even if he slowed to 60 when he saw the person.

I honestly came out of all this controversy stuff still liking and trusting his content. Yeah, he messed up and yeah, I'm not interested in a $50 per year app for wallpapers. That was a bit out of touch. But the dude took responsibility, apologized and learned from his mistakes. Also, the reviews are fine imo. Maybe he needs to be more mindful before labeling a product "the worst" but the criticisms were all deserved. The pins weren't very useful at all and the car shouldn't have launched like that. We as customers are tired of half-baked products in general tbh.
