12:05 it's a D&D reference. It's based on dexterity which is your ability to dodge on your own and then you have armor rating. In D&D I think the rating in 3.5e for half plate is +5 but you can't use your dexterity modifier. So you're stuck with a base 10 + 5= 15. However, chainmail allows you to use your dexterity modifier which is probably a +4. If you have a dexterity modifier of a +2 and a base of 10. All together it'll be 16. But that's kind of the gist of it. Oh and lastly, The reason why I probably isn't higher is because the maximum number you could probably use is a +4 only because per game rules that's the most you can move in that armor so it won't let you go any higher even if you have a +6 or higher or whatever. And it only goes to a max of a +4.😂

Incorrect. Its based on 5e statistics where Chain Mail has a base AC of 16 but cannot be boosted by Dexterity due to being heavy armor. Half-Plate is medium armor with a base AC of 15 but can be boosted by Dexterity by up to +2. The post only uses the base statistics
