After Jonghyun died 2 years ago, SHINee is now known as the kpop groups who’s member Jonghyun committed sucide. Just hearing these words hurt so much, SHINee deserves so much recognition , they shouldn’t be known for Jonghyun’s death. SHINee is not your tragedy, and as for Jonghyun he also shouldn’t be known as the kpop idol who committed sucide. I’m a shawol and have been for 4 years. As i grew up with shinee since 2010, watching their mv and blasting their song through my sister's laptop after coming home from my elementary school. Jonghyun's passing hit me like a sledgehammer. I kinda get off from shinee world and just keeping up with their songs only when i'm in middle school. Now i regret not keep staying with them before and how many jonghyun's moments i miss. When Jonghyun died, I literally couldn't listen to kpop for 2 years. I was absolutely devastated when I found out and I couldn't stop crying. So I distanced myself. Now here I am again, catching up on all of the tears that I've repressed by refusing to think about him. It wasn't fair of me to do that but I couldn't let myself dwell on it for too long with some events going on at home simultaneously. So I blocked it out. Now I can finally let myself cry and enjoy their music again. As for Onew, Minho, and Key, I will wait however long it takes for them to return safely. Thank you, Jonghyun. I love you. You did well.

I felt the same way when I found out about Jonghyun... It completely broke my heart. I was pretty much in shock and disbelief when I heard about it, I thought it was a lie at first. Then I cried for that whole week afterwards (I'm about to cry now too)... This compounded my pain from losing my father 2 years before, it was just too much. So I took a 2 year break from Kpop all together and focused more on watching films instead. I'm finally starting to open myself up to Kpop again, but SHINee has been a huge part of my life these past 10 years so I still get choked up when I talk about, see videos of, or hear Jonghyun's voice. He and the rest of the boys mean so much to me and I'll allways love all 5 of them.

I started to get into Shinee around half a year before it happened and on the day it happened I landed in Tokyo and was on my way to Seoul when I heard... It was so sad. Even though some of you didn't know Shinee back in the day it's ok if you feel sad when you hear about it. He was really young and succesfull but really sad at the same time... and every normal person feels at least a little bit sad when they hear about it. It's normal. Was sitting in class and had a 5 minute break when I got the news of Jonghyun. Was crying my eyes out in class and had to leave school. Stayed at home the day after because I couldn't make myself stop randomly bursting into tears. Worst christmas of my life. Got Jonghyun's last album for christmas by my Uncle the year after and spent the rest of the evening crying in his arms. Couldn't thank him enough. SHINee was my introduction to kpop. First ever song I heard was Lucifer and they have been my ultimate group since then. Jonghyun may not have been my bias but he was a part of my life for around 5 years and I started crying again writing this and I just wanted to say Thank you for everything. I'm only ever gonna get 1 tattoo in my entire life and it's gonna be the rose used after His death directly over my heart because I want him close, always.

I have a story similar to this, the only songs of shinee is the ones Jonghyun made he wasn't my bias Onew was my bias but on December 18, 2017, I stopped listening to shinee and Jonghyun's songs for a while I was very heartbroken to know one of my favorite members passed away. Due to suicide. I just never wanted him to die I dreamed I met him and he never died and shinee was 5 again but I woke up and realized he's in a better place now.. Mine to when i found out my friends told me and i said no that isnt true i was in total denial because when they debuted i was 3 and ive known them i met them so my friends telling me that i shut down on them and started doing research then my nephew calls telling me that as soon as i go home to put the kbs news i get home and sure enough they said that he died. I literally bought a ticket and went to korea; i didnt go anywhere i just stayed cryung in my nephews room. i was soo sad i cried for days and i suffer from depression and i did multuple attempts. All of them failed because i was always remembered that even if i die i dont know them they probably would forget me the 4 year old who went to their meet and greet gettung lost in the process but somethinf always told me to dont it isnt your time so i said to myself that if he is truely happy with his decision then no matter how much it hurts me i will support it. Because he will always be looking out for his members his family, friends and of course his fans i have to remind myself that so i can survive the day that he is always with us

Something really needs to be put in place in korea, more and more lifes are being taken away by suicide and its mostly k-celebs. Jonghyun will always be in our hearts and SHINee will always be 5. I too understand, after jonghyuns passing I couldnt listen for months and years. SHINee are the only 2nd gen 2008 group that hasn't lost a member. Jonghyun is still a SHINee member even in his passing. They did so amazingly well with continuing even through their grief. Even though tere'd be absolutely no problem at all if they chose to take a hiatus or even not continue. Its still sad as the day of the news but I am proud of our fandom and SHINee for handling it all well. Ugh your voice cracking hit hard, it never gets easier to speak about but it has to be done. Jonghyun, Sulli, Hara. Are "only" 3 of millions who suffer not just in Korea but world wide. Depression needs to be taken more seriously :(

I'm not even a fan of SHINee but I can see the pain through the question: "What happened to SHINee?". It was heartbreakung, and still is that he died. It's unfortunate he suffered from depression. Too much for him to handle. I couldn't imagine how much of a dent it left in the fans of SHINee's heart, it definitely left a scar in the Kpop industry. If a member commited suicide in a group I Stan, I'd have mental breakdowns, hiding myself from people. Their fans could've done the same. Ahhhhh, wow, this video was emotional, for sure, on many, many levels. Even watching this, over 2 years after Jonghyun's death, I still cannot contain my tears when he's mentioned. Seeing that Abbey Road Studios footage though, wow, that really took me back. I was literally there, in that crowd, screaming along, and being so so happy, that I could get even a glimpse, of the people I had admired for so long. And then again, seeing them perform, at the London Korean Film Festival, and the other occasions throughout the years, where I was lucky enough to witness their unique talent first-hand. I first discovered them when I was barely 15 years old, and now, at almost 27, I still feel the same way. SHINee are that group that really stick with you. Even though I'm not in the K-Pop scene anymore, I still, and always will stan and adore SHINee, like I have since I first saw them in 2008. So talented, so good-hearted, so unique, so loved. A group that I think, has yes, recieved many awards and accolades, and has achieved icon status within the K-Pop community, buuuut, does not truly receive the recognition they deserve. (Maybe I'm just being *that* stan that thinks their fave group deserves more attention, but c'mon?? SHINee is Legendary!!) I hope they continue on, for as long as they wish to, and become an even more iconic, and loved group. For them, and for Jonghyun. Truly, the Kings of K-Pop, in my eyes.

Hi. I'm watching this on April 8, 2020 (Jonghyun's 30th birthday). I have seen this video countless times before, but I never had the guts to hit click because I know it's going to hurt..... And yes.... It did.... I cried so much when you started talking about one of the most devastating losses the KPop world has experienced. My gosh, I love SHINee so much. My ultimate bias was, is and will always be Kim Jonghyun. It really pains me, even up to this day, everytime I think about not being able to see him in person. He was my ultimate dream. The day he passed away, I literally cried, "Why did it have to be MY idol, why did it have to be Kim Jonghyun?" I love you Jonghyun, always always always. When he died, I guess I was traumatized.... I avoided KPop for more than a year. This was such a beautiful video. Indeed, SHINee is undeniably one of the best KPop groups to have ever existed. I'm a shawol and i'm speaking this on behalf of myself and the shawols who shared the same opinion and sentiment with me. There might be different opinion from other shawols but I hope my opinion can open people eyes regarding SHINee on how to view them. SHINee being the multitalented, well respected and humble kings in the industry for 12 years now. They build their own legacy with their own uniqueness and talents and the members Onew,Jonghyun,Key ,Minho and Taemin all play important parts as individuals and a group. They have vocalist,dancers,rappers,actors,mc,DJ, chorographer,author,athlete,musical actors, visual.director,editor and more in the group. From 2008, they have tried different genre and style making trends after trends and always improve themselves and branch out as soloist according to their individuals interest yet when it times to be together,they come out with full synergy and dynamic as a group. Not to mention,their bonds are more likely as family,they're brothers now. As Dec 2017 happened, many people start to have interest on them,some become true fans or casual fan and there a few who only see them as tragedy porn which really saddened me to see that. People start to view them pitiful but forget their talents and hardwork. Physically they might be not 5 members now but SHINee always FIVE members. Jonghyun never left SHINee,he just out of this world. He never think to leave SHINee at all. He love his members and Shawols so much. Since OnKeyMinTae already going forward for their life and career,that doesn't mean they forget about Jjong. Same like Shawols did,we're going forward and carrying him with us,believing he always with us. I hope people genuinely can support SHINee as they are now. When talking about Jjong,I wished people stop diminish him only to his depression. Believe or not,we shawols work hard to not crumble everyday,try to not engulf ourselves in sadness because we miss him everyday and it is hard to do it if people keep reminding us about the tragedy. Instead please comment about his talents,his beautiful soul and how amazing he was before. I pray no one ever have to experience this loss and longing aside us to understand our feelings,but please have some empathy for us. Jonghyun was my bias and was literally the reason why I am still here on this earthly plane. So when everything hit about Jjong, it hit me hard, and to this day I still can't really...deal. With that being said I really enjoyed this trip down memory lane. Forever Shawol, forever a Jonghyun fan ❤💎

I respect the fact that you’re voice was cracking. It’s damn hard to NOT get choked up. Personally I bawl like a baby. Watching all of his band mates so broken and sad. It’s sad, awful and heartbreaking BUT I need to remember all the beauty that was in his heart and all of their hearts still. Jong Hyun isn’t here on Earth but I feel him free of the pain and shining down on us with that bright smile.
