I don't think you can compare what he does to anything or anybody else . I agree some of the tunes don't sit together perfectly.. but his misfit persona and his joy when he knows he got it right.. makes sense :)

I swear it's not just the music (which by the way is just amazing) it's the whole thing. so much creativity and passion goes into this and you can see it in his performance

he STILL kills it everytime, its like not even fair how good he is also i heard that he lost his OG monome, which is super sad, but this new one is pretty sleek

Daedelus ploughs his way through a universe of electronic music mediocrity setting everything on fire as he goes. A master craftsman.

@qwook7 жыл бұрын
he probably can. most artists get to a point where they can replicate or make any sound they want. it's the type of sound that they want to make that defines them as an artist. steve aoki isn't that different.
@qwook7 жыл бұрын
aoki and daedelus are the same age and have both been making music for a long time. aoki was in a hardcore / punk band before his EDM and i feel has had as much experience in music though they are in two completely diff genres. i just don't appreciate the negativity some people bring to the music scene, just let other artists do what they want to do.. you don't have to be a hipster about it.

do you know if he uses quantitization when triggering stuff with the monome?

i don't think he does honestly, i mean you definitely could but fact that he chokes the samples manually would make me think it's not quantized

@distantfloats8 жыл бұрын
Those tracks really don't stick to each other, and this whole jam sounds really wrong. There are some good ideas in tracks which might work in regular mix. Other thing is, that monome mlr jam offers nothing spectacular, triggering to various time markers in loop isn't really a top-notch feature in 2016. Well, if someone don't know how mlr works, those lights might look interesting, and so pro&sci-fi, but, sadly, this is where spectacularity of this performance ends.

+adyry still better than just dj'ing and being boring...
@nuccidesu8 жыл бұрын
+adyry It's sad but it's true. The first song gave me such a good first impression, then after that it's a bit jumbled and all over the place.
@distantfloats8 жыл бұрын
+gijshenk2 I wouldn't be so certain, good djing is as hard as making good music, it's an art to create certain moods and maintain them through mix, to create completly new experience.
@gartgartsman4788 жыл бұрын
+adyry That's always been his style. I've been seeing him play for around 9 years and it's only gotten more complex, but essentially the same flow. I totally see your point, but to give credit to Alfred, it's always been his bag. I appreciate him for it. Sometimes you're put out of your comfort zone, but it's really fun if you allow yourself to go there with him.
