Maintaining appropriate role boundaries is crucial for successful interpretation. Disclosing personal information and performing professional tasks other that simply interpreting are common errors that can lead to significant negative consequences.

If someone uses a phrase you don't understand just use proper clarifying and then go back to the transparent interpreting role. If you have forgotten a word to interpret just "paint a word picture". Check out our video on proper clarification.
