Interpreting the Navamsa with Vedic Astrology

Hi Ryan, I'm looking at a D9-chart using Ernst Wilhelm's calculator… The outlook of the chart is similar except for the bhava cusps… Do I use the signs as houses or the bhava cusps? Thank you for an answer.

The planets have similar general meanings, but they need to be altered to take into consideration what the varga means. 7th house from the atmakaraka in the navamsha is good for assessing spouse, both planets in that house and planets RASHI aspecting. See my other video on rashi aspects to determine how those work if you don't know already. Also, Dara karaka in birth chart and Venus for Men and Jupiter for women are traditionally used to this end well.

hey Ryan.Is it true that the lagna chart is the first part of our lives and the Navmansha our second part of our lives.That the planets give results in their mahadashas as per placement in Navmansha if the person has crossed the age of 35.please enlighten us on this.

I have an exalted moon in my d9 conjunct with Venus in my 2nd house, aspected by mercury in the 8th. Does an exalted Moon give a really strong negative effect on Venus here? Even when it’s in it’s own sign of Taurus and aspected by friend Mercury?

Sun gives light to the moon and hence moon appears bright to others. In astrology sun = self / father and moon = mind/mother. In Navamsa chart, if sun is in Scorpio and vargottama and moon is in Taurus and both are opposite to each other, what does it signify ? I heard somewhere that sun opposite moon has some significance in spiritual astrology. Any thoughts ?

Pawansoot108 Pawanputra well my sun is debilitated in my d1 but my moon is strong in leo. So odd how backwards that is.

Hi, were to find the difference between dignity and natural relationships? I thought that when for example Mercury is in the sign of Sagittarius, Jupiter being a neutral to Mercury, it was in good dignity.? But apparently not so... Thanks!

levivelivel Please see the Art and Science of Vedic astrology, chapter 6 I think. Also, there may be a video on here where I explain that. However, I've done so many I am not certain if its on this youtube page or something I taught in a class. Or just google, planetary dignity. It is a combination of natural friendship and temporary friendship.

Two questions: Do you consider conjunctions in the navamsa to give a more accurate reading? Secondly, what do u feel about planets with good true dignity in dusthana houses such as a good mercury in the 8th of the navamsa? I'm going to ignore the avasthas for simplicity sake.

+Gabe L Conjunctions are accurate if they are actually conjunct in the natal chart. Otherwise, you would simply look at the planets who are influencing the sign they are in in the Navamsha, like a Rashi aspect. Good dignity planets in Dusthana, can still give problems, but those problems usually resolve positively. 8th house mercury can give breaks and changes with Mercurial things and with the house it rules in the Rashi, but in the end those brings and changes will lead one more positively down the path.

Do the planets in Navamsa have the same meaning as lagna chart.So a Moon in the 2nd Aquarius have the same meaning in both charts? Also which is more important in describing the spouse the 7th house in lagna chart or 7th in navasma

+Prasad L K It can, but you need to check and see it its hurting any other planets with its power. It will be good for the planet but bad for its enemies.

Ryan, I've heard Navamsa really comes into play around 35 or during marriage. So when you counsel someone 35 or older, or who's married, does their navamsa represent them much more than the rash chart? And to what percentage? Thanks!
