I've got a 2014 2SS RS 1LE (Ordered from GM September 2013) in Ashen Gray Metallic and I can honestly say that it's that fun to drive it. Suspension is quite a bit stiffer than a stock SS for sure.

i must get headers on my 2015 SS damn! i got K&N Cold air intake Borla S-Type Catback and a tune from DSP Performance motorsports but NO headers :) i feel like its the major upgrade to get to get most out of these other mods.

I just got one last Saturday, it's my first high powered car and also my first manual. You drive it much better than I do lol. I noticed you hit about 2800 rpm when you went into first, I was told to keep it at 1,500 - 2,000. Was I mislead? I could probably figure it out myself but like I said it's my first manual and I'm super careful about what I'm doing because I don't want to burn up the clutch.

How does the 1le feel vs your car and the orange SSX you reviewed?

So the SSX rode really rough cause it was on springs and it was far more stiff all-around. The 1LE was wonderful and the cornering on some occasions (not shown in this video) held really nicely. Driving in regular traffic it was actually really comfortable. Also the gearing was different. The SSX one still felt like it was pulling but the 1LE after switching to 4th you feel the immediate drop in torque.

You have to test drive both, they're quite different animals. The SS with 1LE is one tight handling beast, you'll back off the gas before the car gives up grip! A real hoot to drive! While it won't beat you up on bumpy roads, the GTO will be a better ride.The GTO is more of a sophisticated musclecar, can't go wrong with either car!

Does the gears make a difference for you vs your 2010? Does it make the 5th gen move quicker ?

Yeah they are different, 1le's are 3.91 and mine is 3.45. I can slightly feel the lower end torque and availability on the 1le. But after 4th gear you can clearly feel the torque loss on the 1le than my car.

@@itsjusta302 I had a 13 GT. After I got a 18GT 10R80 which was recently totaled due to a red light runner. I am after my first LS product and a Gen5 Camaro is at the top of the list. A reason I didn’t care for my 13GT was the rear suspension. That 3 link rear always felt unsettled even with UPR and Steeda suspension. The full independent on the 18 was much better at speed, more confident and planted. Since the Camaro is independent, I’d say go for the Camaro. And just the thought of being able to make 560-580 chp with a full top end is awesome. No forced induction, all NA. Good luck with your search!

@@gvaspirated Sorry but if you look at overall ratios (multiplying trans ratio times rear gear ratio} There is virtually no difference between the 1le & the ss. Not bashing 1le s at all as I would love to have one, very nice car BTW

@@Rdavis6672what he says about torque loss makes no sense. 3-4 on the 1LE is 7% shorter/closer. That’s a 500 RPM difference on the shift.. the whole transmission has closer ratios with a longer first gear.
