Listening to Mr Estes leaves me in a deep state of humility and wonder, and at the same time it causes me deep pain to glimpse so much human suffering… It is quite possible that we came here to liberate Palestine but it is Palestine that will liberate humanity. 🕊️

Thank you so much for having an indigenous creator from North America on for an interview. As an American for liberation, interviews like this matter so much. Native voices here are not heard by the mainstream public and we are taught next to nothing about their nations and struggles in our schools. It is even normal to not know what nations are local to you as an American. Again, thank you.

This was so incredibly informative and I'm surprised it hasn't gotten as many views yet! But it's only been a few hours, hopefully more viewers will give it a watch. I'm subscribing to his Red Nation podcast bc of this interview. He's not only a treasure trove of historical knowledge, but he's also a wonderfully eloquent and coherent storyteller. These past 10 months have been horrific, but he's right, this is just an escalation of what's been happening to my people for over 76 years. What I found the most fascinating was how the struggle of my people helped provide a lens to indigenous tribes to more concretely understand settler-colonialism. Ironically, it was my contact with the subject through American History courses that illustrated the same system that was imposed on the Native Americans, which helped contextualize my own understanding of it. I'm curious if it's harder for us to understand it as it's happening to us, and that it only becomes clearer when we see that system applied elsewhere. Maybe that blindspot is an evolutionary trait designed to encourage us to seek out others with similar experiences, which then leads us to engage in solidarity with other post-colonial movements.

Nick's knowledge of history is sorely lacking. The Arabs in lsrael are not indigenous or natives to the Holy Land. The Arabs are settler colonialists. Zionism is actually a decolonizing action. "The past is erased. The erasure is forgotten. A lie becomes the truth." Learn about Islamic history and culture. This will give you a different view of the Arabs. Estes needs more education!

I'm just a random ginger grandma in north Georgia who's also put the struggles for rights of our indigenous people and Palestinians together. I was raised with mixed race sisters and learned early that we are all just people inside. I've studied native plants and mourn for the knowledge that's been lost. Thank you for this thought provoking discussion. It's humanity that needs to be brought to freedom from the Zionist agenda. We've got limited time to do so IMHO

what an outstanding conversation, thank you so much i continue to be shocked how easily even well-informed and thoroughly pro-palestinian voices state that the colonization and genocide of the native people of turtle island has been successful and complete. what i see, even from a long distance, is a deep resilience and a remembrance and regeneration of the folks and their cultures in the face of these overwhelming odds. and i do hold it to be absolutely important to recognize and acknowledge that, even more so now as the colonial empire is cracking and begins to crumble under its obscene weight and soullessness we shall prevail, overcome and outlive these obsolete systems and plant a new worlds in the compost heap of this "civilization" free falasteen and all of kinship Eairth

As to the connection between AIM and the Palestinian liberation movement, no less a light than Russell Means saw the similarities between the two struggles early on: "What is being done to the Palestinian people was done to the American Indian".

I would say that the current reality of indigenous Americans is what the future looks like for Palestinians if they settler colonialism does not stop. Now the course of action for each case I would argue is widely different, Palestine can still be decolonized since the nakba is still living memory, meanwhile for the Americas it’s been half a millennia, it’s impossible to do anything against half a billion settler descendants. It’s more about reparations and land back for indigenous but I don’t see actual nation states being replaced or created at this point specifically for indigenous groups.
@andromedastar4900
@andromedastar4900 Ай бұрын
This is definitely true. There are still people alive who went through the Nakba. That's why there's still a smidgen of hope for Palestine. It's still recent enough. Right now Palestinians are experiencing what Native Americans experienced in the early and mid 1800s. From here, it can get a lot better or it can get a lot worse. Another 100 years of the current fascist ethnostate and it will be too late. This is why I feel we're witnessing a pivotal moment in history. It's hard to tell right now which direction it will go.

millions have died for us to be talking! 🤦🏽‍♂️..their colonisation over decades are now leading to us just talking about their deaths and why they were murdered, dont you see that the progress to our discussion has been slow? in our lives the evidence will dominate and colonised people's will be free!...it takes time but more understanding of information (we fight the themtube restrictions too) will inevitably spread histories of lost cultures and their freedom at their own chosen pace....is inevitable through this discussion. all the power to all the people, black, white, yellow, brown....all power!✊🏾

3:58, "language" .... even to speak with the thieves who murdered your family maintains using their language! 😑..... the colonisation of language is very deep. in the system of theft, they educate to abuse language so that basic facts are disabused of material facts. thieves and murdered is what they are........not civilising to improve human existence or religious respectful of humanity....😒.....great discussion, one of hundreds of unfree people...the "American Indian"..(is that even how they referred themselves five hundred years back? 🤔)......but we are understanding the full breath of "colonisation" and can change this light weight, normalisation of abusive language that normalised theft/murder also! ✊🏾

On a native American history Indian professor podcast he related that the Americans paid a bounty on Indian scalps, I commented that the Palestinian authority does the same thing in paying their terrorists pay for slay in perpetuity when the Arab Muslims kill Jews he had no comment. Jews are from Judea, the indigenous thing with Arabs from Arabia seems to elude many who lacked depth of understanding of indigenous peoples. The land of Israel wherever you dig is full of Jewish artifacts. Jerusalem isn't mentioned in the Quran. If the Palestinian authority does the exact same thing that the Americans did 150 years earlier against their indigenous people what is one to think? Leftists often don't think. There's native American solidarity trips to Israel constantly, this guy is a leftist outlier. How many American Indian political prisoners are there? Means just had his last appeal turned down and is there any evidence for his criminality? Focusing on Israel while your American justice system crushes your American citizens seems out of whack but leftists are always out of whack, destructive deleterious and on the down low. Andrea dworkin said that leftist men were bad in bed and violent. Remember that the Arab Israeli supreme Court Justice put in Israeli prime Minister in jail when you think about inequality for Arabs in Israel
