Great video, 200 North is my exit in the beautiful town of Kaysville!

Growing up in Northern Utah in the '80's & '90's, I-15 in Davis County was only three lanes, and two lanes after 24th Street in Ogden. Thanks for sharing my hometown on your travels.

Thanks for sharing! Glad to see this road has gotten some much needed upgrades since then.

@apo18llo Now it's 3 lanes minimum in the area, some have 4. Think they're trying to make the whole wasatch front 4 lanes with the growth Utah is having and in anticipation of landing the 2034 winter Olympics.

Exit 338 Roy baby, that's home for me. Nice to see you pass by it. Born at the old McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, but grew up in Roy. Great video and happy traveling. We all have travel journeys in life one mile at a time. When you hit the open road you're free. 💪💪💪

Great vid. Weber is pronounced WE Ber, as in the word We.

Yes, long "E". Wee-ber is the local vernacular.

8:21 Welcome Home Erica! Great video! I've driven this stretch of I-80 a few times when driving from Seattle to Kansas and back. Tons of great views of the Wasatch Mountains from the freeway.

I think you mean I-15 my good friend! lol regardless thanks for tuning in! The views here is what makes this one of my favorite urban freeway drives in the country!

@@InterstateKyle I'm sort of correct, I meant the I-15/I-80 conjunction. 😅😅

WEE-ber County. Like everyone else said.😅 As you can see, the Wasatch Mountains to the right (east), all that snow this spring allowed me to ski over Memorial Day weekend 2024 😄 Weber county has been my home for many years. Love it.

How wonderful to foresee more people and construct roads accordingly. This freeway looks like a dream! I live in Southern California. The freeway is always bumper to bumper 😮

My folks and I lived in Brigham City when I was very young. I remember it well - before the interstates and a two-lane road was the way north. It seemed to be a lot flatter with f less vegetation compared to today. There is a seasonal waterfall in northern Brigham City which was walking distance from our house. I used to love it and wished it would run all the time. We could walk out the front door, turn right, and be looking right at it. Going to Ogden was a big-city thing (or so I thought) and I remember going to restaurants there (a big treat). A&W Root Beer stands were a favorite - we'd get the Root Beer floats. Salt Lake city was a long ways off, but I remember going to the zoo there. I was in kindergarten back then, and even today miss the mountains and scenery from the West.

the view of Mount Ben Lomond and the ridgeline on either side that appears clearly right with the subtitled information about Weber county is UNMATCHED IN THE CONTINENTAL USA.. I said waht I said. It is especially stunning with this massive late Spring/early Summer snowpack.

Good one as usual; you were close to Hill AFB and the home of the first operational F-35 Wing, the 388th FW. Surprised that you didn't note the southern end of U.S. 91 (which used to go all the way from Canada to Long Beach) in the video.

YTer Bigrigtravels used to make his pickups & deliveres in this part of the state as a trucker. But he hasn't ventured this far West in several months- most of his recent trips been in the Illinois-Indiana-Ohio tri-state area. That said, this is very nice scenery of I-15 in Northern Utah. It's also very green despite being in The Great Basin. Which shows the farther one gets from the Rain Shadow of the Sierra Nevada, the more green it gets in this part of the country.

I am SOOO old I remember the freeway between Ogden and Salt Lake having a default 2 lanes, and in a few places 3, with a large grassy median in the middle - you would occasionally see the Highway Patrol doa fast dirt turn across the median to go chase someone.. That era is soooooo long gone with the massive population surge between Ogden and SLC.... trying to explain to a kid these days what a median was.. hahahahaha

You missed some golden opportunities in this video. Ben Lomond Peak (around the 9 minute mark on the right) is believed to be the inspiration for the Paramount Studios logo. And multiple cities of note, Hill Air Force Base (only base for hundreds of miles in any direction), could have been so much better.

Interstate 15 and interstate 80 confluence in Salt Lake City but US highway 395 intersects interstate 80 515 miles west of interstate 15 in Reno Nevada. If anyone has traveled interstate 80 from Salt Lake City the distance to US highway 395 is 515 miles west of interstate 15.

Utah DOT should replace all DOTs in the country
@kevinfestner61265 ай бұрын
Utah! DOT is very reasonable and efficient. Notice the use of a primitive form of the German Rechtsfahrgebot not in Utah!, passing on the left, moving over after passing to the safest lane doing your speed.
@bokebryant39855 ай бұрын
@@kevinfestner6126 would be perfect if people would move back to right most lane instead of middle lane, if people start doing that, I think even a 100 mph speed limit would still make the road very safe. As you know, German Autobahn has fatality rate much lower than the US!
