It's been a minute! This video references the new single from Intervals entitled, "5-HTP" off the upcoming album Circadian. Here's a breakdown of the intro riff. Welcome back, more content to follow I promise :) Ry

Most people will just play and slow it down for ya. You are a great teacher my man. You explain everything how everyone should, which is breaking it into sections. The muscle memory is really easy to pick up with your explanations. Much

How do you know that it's in drop D? The covers I've seen play it in standard since it is pretty much the same.
@chicken61114 жыл бұрын
The chord shapes and fingerings in the official playthrough demonstrate that it's in drop D. The "breakdown" riff later on utilises an Eb, which wouldn't be possible on a standard tuned guitar. It's also perfectly reasonable for someone to cover the song in standard or Eb standard, I've done covers in different tunings myself! However people want to interpret the music is up to them :) but I am fairly confident I've accurately pegged it as drop D.

@@chicken6111 Oh, I didn't know that there was a Eb after that. I had been playing this part in the standard "stack of fifths" position. Thanks for the riff tutorial and the info!

Thank you so much for this! I love the intro perhaps the most out of the whole song, and I can't wait to learn it! Could you give any tips on replicating your tone in this video? It's awesome - if you told me it was the album track, I'd believe it.
@chicken61113 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm playing direct through a Yamaha THR5. I use the bridge pickup on my guitar, with a 60%(ish) gain on. Low gain is the key.

How can i achieve a similar tone with my spark amp?
@chicken6111 Жыл бұрын
I don’t know what a spark amp is, but my only suggestion is lower the gain, use a bridge pickup, maybe boost the low mids slightly
