+SeatofWisdom Concur completely. I was new to Save us from the Archon and Angel Vivaldi, so they warmed me up. Plini was outstanding. But Aaron blew it out of the water -- he sounds tremendous on stage and he easily has the chops to both replicate the sweet album quality + keep it fresh in a live setting.

Not a hater though i love polyphia but this is how you combine feel and technique versus just playing technical or technically being good. Polyphia is good HANDS DOWN fast notes/crazy riffs but just sounding bland there's just no feel to it. anyway mad respect for this album wishing aaron all the best!
@marry111099 жыл бұрын
+Jure Zadravec intervals and chon > polyphia.... agreed polyphia sounds cool and all but it sounds like theyre just soloing over a backing track at times
@RX120D9 жыл бұрын
+Jure Zadravec I think Champagne, especially Nick Johnston's solo is very listenable. Other than that, I don't really have much interest in the band.
@amberoath9 жыл бұрын
+Joshua Jose I love Polyphia too -- Finale is my favorite song, because I think it perfectly combines technicality and melody, and I feel many instrumental groups completely neglect the latter in their modern works... -- but I just *feel* Aaron's groove a lot more. This album combines everything together seamlessly: power and calm; groove and the moves; tasty layers and strong solos; melody and technicality. An incredible job well-done to the new Intervals: I'm pumped to see Aaron and Plini tour in NYC in late March!

@Khosumi8 жыл бұрын
Talent doesn't exist. Just practice. Anyone can achieve good guitar playing if they put the hours in.
@Kojitsu8 жыл бұрын
He's actually being pretty objective, talent is just when other people perceive that you didn't put any hard work into being good at something, when in reality countless hours were spent on the activity, "talented" people have made it such an ingrained part of their daily life that it gets practiced every chance they get. My friends think I'm talented when it comes to guitar, no, I'm just an obsessive compulsive noodler that can't put a guitar down once I've picked it up because my hands constantly need to be doing something. Heck I've lost sleep because of it, lol, not saying that it's necessarily a bad thing, but anyways other people see only the result and they think "wow you're so talented, I wish I had that!"
@Khosumi8 жыл бұрын
+Swarky What are you talking about? Literally saying "You need to put in the hours of work to achieve this level of skill" is somehow "Participation prize". You have problems, one of them being reading comprehension. If you think "talent" exists in our bodies, you are objectively and scientifically wrong. Get real.
@Kojitsu8 жыл бұрын
+Swarky where did this millennial assumption come from? lol, I'm probably older than you, getting upset isn't going to make people agree with you

Im glad your music has gone instrumental. I respect the vocals, but for your music vocals are unnecessary. your guitar does all the singing.

+Chris H They're both such different beasts. The great part is, they're able to write around vocals too. The instrumentals just shine that much more when they're written without vox in mind. I'm elated with pretty much all of their work, vocals or not.

Aaron did a masterful job not just playing technically and shredding the entire album but also writing great compositions. The melodic guitar riffs that take the place of the vocals is absolutely amazing. You can totally imagine vocals being sung with the lead kinda popish and catchy melodies he's playing. But it's my pop melodies in a bad way, totally in the best way possible. He adds a lot of pop punk style riffs and chord progressions. Travis orbin put a lot of groove behind this album as well. I like Anup better than Travis but this album is definitly my favorite intervals album and quite honestly this just might reach one of the top instrumental albums of all time for me. That's how much I dig this album. Animals as leaders The Joy of motion, peripherys self titled instrumental , intervals the shape of colour, and chon's Grow are definitly my favorites and are all must have instrumental albums for this genre imo.
