@@ducksauce9187 For some reason, TV seems to be more political than film. You can be the biggest star ever on a TV show but maybe never get another TV role. If you do sometimes it could take years. Travis Fimmel just signed on to do a new TNT show produced by Ridley Scott called Raised By Wolves. I think they are supposed to start filming in the next few months.

I have to say, seeing Alex outside of Ivar is amazing....he is such a good actor for his age it's hard to realize how 'normal' he is: attractive, charismatic, warm and so very talented: sings well, dances, he can write his own ticket in any country!!

In general I'm surprised at how well everyone pronounces "skål" in Vikings. I'm Danish and to me it sounds perfect, even from the native English speakers. "Ragnar" however, that's different situation 😂

I love listening to multilingual people speak. There are actually slight personality differences that occur from language to language, and you can actually see that very much in Alex, I think. A little less so in Marco and Ida, but it's still noticeable. Wonderful interview, and wonderful work translating to whomever did that. Thank you for posting this!

theres no such things as "viking language either" its called old norse.. viking was a word for people who went on raid/traiding journeys at that time.. they didnt speak "vikings"

Viking is more or less a word we gave them, it means Pirate, they described it as "vik" which means "bay" or "shore" and yes it is old Norse that is the true "Viking language" but still, all northern languages are descended from old Norse, Icelandic is closest. There were still differences in the accent depending on from which part of Scandinavia you were from. call it Viking if you will, i can understand why it would sound the same for you. We have 3 extra vocals in danish æ(ae), ø(oe) and å(aa). ø is probably the hardest to pronounce to foreigners but I think it would sound something like the "i" in birthday. Norwegian has got the same vocals since it used to be under danish rule for many years

In Denmark you learn english when you are about 7-8 years old. So most of us speak it with very little, or no problems what so ever, and watch shows in english without subs. is not a problem either :)
