Alex Goldman is one of the most dominate snake attackers of all time and has played for almost every top team in the past ten years. His current long term tenure with Edmonton Impact has been fruitfull, as they have won all there is to win the past half decade all over the world. But there will be no Canadian core for Impact at World Cup. Alex sits down with Matty to talk about the covid break, Cup, and what it takes to excel at the top level.

The problem with paintball becoming main stream is unless you’ve played and understand the strategies it’s pretty boring to watch. In my opinion it’ll never be “mainstream”. That’s coming from a former OG Pro player

Well you could say the same thing about gaming. League of legends for example, one of the largest e sports games, more people watch the championship than people watch the nba championship. And that’s a rather obscure game that is hard to follow. It’s not “mainstream” for Americans but I think paintball could grow to a similar level. I don’t think it will ever be popular as soccer or basketball, but I think it could be pretty damn popular. I think they need to figure out a good way to film the pro games. They still don’t got it down. They need shit load of cameras, ones on everyone’s mask or gun, drones flying, cameras on lifts, they need to be able to capture the glory and skill of paintball in a way they aren’t right now

honestly if you check out dufort media or some of these up and coming videographers, there more raw footage and you can almost feel the instesity and actions that are happening instead of hearing matty talk about dumbshit no one cares ab and just a overhead view.

also the new 1v1 stuff they’re doing is pretty cool and is a lot more interesting and fun than watching a 5 on 5

And the angle the shoot it at is hard to see what players are shooting at. My only favorite angle so far is down the field from the breakout.. If I could really see where players paintballs are going it be alot more hype.

@@christianisaac9327 the difference is that they’ve found that a lot of people that watch gaming don’t even play the game they’re watching, they either do it for the community or they are a fan of a certain person/player. You also gotta understand that the difference is playing a computer game or video game is 100x cheaper then playing paintball. You buy the game and can play it whenever you want, you don’t gotta pay for it every time you play and it for sure isn’t $100+ every time you play. Plus to run a pro paintball team, not including salaries and cost of paint, it’s a 100k. That’s plane tickets, event fees, and hotels. Teams like damage and X factor may get by just under 100k because they are all local , but again that’s not including paint fees and possible salaries. Teams like heat and impact are way over a 100k. Then the lower teams that don’t have a rich guy or a sponsor paying for these things, then they’re paying out of pockets for travel, their pro spot, the other event fees etc. the money alone is not compatible to esports gaming, esports gaming is cheap for the viewer/player and the money in gaming is a billion dollar industry and these gaming companies are raking in millions in just sponsorship money. That is something pro paintball is not even close to doing , the money is not comparable both coming in or going out. Neither is the viewership, you’re taking about millions of people and a constantly growing industry compared to one that’s dwindled in the past decade and niche at best . It’s just a very naive outlook on business and how things work to compare the two

To think Mouse can only play the snake is ridiculous. Paintball isn't like football or basketball where you get too old for your position. Look at Kevin Rudulph below \/ \/ \/. He's like 5'6" and is one of the best back players ever. He couldn't play snake anymore but didn't mean he needed to retire lol.
