I was contacted by an AWS recruiter, had my first phone interview which ended with the recruiter saying “ we went overtime but you’re so interesting to listen to, I really liked everything I heard” 3 days later I check the dashboard and see that I’m no longer under consideration. I asked confirmation from the recruiter that the process was not going forward but I haven’t received a reply. Oh well.

I think they're trained to talk like that. My Amazon recruiter was also very friendly until he tried to ghost me after the 4 hour long final round. I sent an email after a week for a feedback and then after a month. Then finally after a couple of months, he called me to say that I was not selected. He didn't even care to explain what went wrong and he was not as energetic as he was initially. 🙄 But one good thing about Amazon is that your resume and contact details will remain in their database. You may be contacted again by a different recruiter in the future. I got contacted by 3 different Amazon recruiters after the rejection.

My son went from working hard on a hay farm to being a package driver for Amazon for one dollar more an hour. He loved it at first but that love quickly wore off. As he kept making his delivery time goals each week, they kept pushing him more and more without any bonuses. It was never good enough. He was working 12 hour shifts. He was exhausted, going up flights up stairs carrying packages daily. The better he was, they more they worked him until he completely gave out. Once he tripped on a step and he was terrified to tell management so he wouldn't get yelled at n get a mark against him or get fired. I cleaned his elbow and super glued his elbow skin together and put butterfly stitches on it send sent him back to work. A year later, after 2 years of no raises, tighter goals to meet, no recognition for safety, and reaching his goals, he gave up n quit.Km 5 months ago

Bruh if your managers need to TELL you to take PTO, that just screams bad WLB for the average employee. If WLB is fine, your managers shouldn’t have to compensate it for it. Plus, Amazon hires so much primarily due to the fact that they PIP and fire employees with a yearly target. Someone’s getting let go at the end of the day.

Hi Thomas, thanks for producing these, they are one of the better ones I have viewed. I am currently interviewing for a Sr. Partner Dev Manager role within the GSI Alliances. It is an individual contributor role. I have been through 2 rounds of interviews and have moved forward to having my panel interview "Virtually" in the next week or so. My question is do you really need to have examples ready for all 14 LP's or are their a few for my role that are typically asked. Thanks again!

Great video. Going to be handy for me while I'm waiting for my update. I was reached out from Amazon UC Dublin for and FEE and AWS Lambda position. I just had initial chat with the recruiter on LinkedIn and was asked for my CV. After reviewing CV with the team, I was invited for an online coding assessment. I was given 5 days to do the assessment. Now I'm waiting to hear back after the Engineer's review of the code - which apparently will take 24-48 hours. Let's see how the rest goes.

Hello! I know this is old news, but thought I would provide an update. Basically, its a Tier 1 position with the same pay but you're an assistant to the learning department. You're an unpaid trainer essentially. But, you get to be considered an "Ambassador" and I think that makes you eligible to go out of state and be a trainer at brand new opening Amazons for time and a half. They do pay for your hotel and flight as well.

I had onsite over a year ago and failed. Got put on a 1 year ban from applying. I applied recently after the ban and got rejected again. I feel someone might be blacklisting me. I know I have what it takes to do this job. Is there an appeals process? Or can I get a referral to overturn a possible "strongly not inclined"

I cant really speak to this because i dont know the background. Did you have a referral when you applied again?

Great video, ****new sub*****I notice he said connect to as many recruiters as possible. How can I find an Amazon Recruiter? I have been looking into jobs on Indeed. However there are so many scams.

I would check it out on LinkedIn to search for people. For example, search for “amazon recruiter” or roles that you are interested in like “amazon product manager”

Hi if someone is rejected after they have gone through the entire interview process. Does amazon reconsider such profiles in future ?

Whats your advice for an interview for a specific role, but you're really interested in a different role at a company?
@CareerSchool

I think this is a good question. I would first chat through this with your recruiter. They might have better answers. I would say something like "I am open to other roles like XX or YY"

Hi, Is it always has to be numbers in the interview? Can you explain more what’s the numbers that they will ask about? Or it depends on what is the job position? I was a store manager and now I have an interview for operation supervisor with Amazon and I’m actually terrified because I’m not a big talker and I don’t really understand the numbers questions?!
@CareerSchool

Hi RJ, thanks for the comment. Yes. I understand that quantifying stuff might be hard. if you were a store manager can you say something like "because of my work I was able to make things more efficient which led to saving XX hours per employee per day which is around YY hours per year in total" hope this helps!

I thought it will be the area manger or level 3s that makes someone go ahead on the process or not. or maybe this guy was talking about L4 , l5 , l6 positions in that case i can see it that way. however in my warehouse ,, i saw lots of level 1 promoted to level 3 because they kissed asss to level 4 and they all got promoted. ? hmmmm someone isnt right here ? unless that area manger was the recruiter ?? who the hell is the recruiter in my warehouse ??

@@CareerSchool thanks. anyhow, i figured out how it works in my warehouse. My AM can refer me but the operation mangers are the hiring managers and they have the final saying. Lol i literally disrespected or didnt say anything to operation mangers because they never talked nor work with the team in the fields. this is the main reason i got fked at my application.

Please stop hmm-ing in the microphone and said "yes, yeah etc" when your interlocutor is speaking. Is unnecessary and if you want to say something please keep everything until after your interlocutor is ending what he has to said. You had nice questions and is a great interview overall, but please stop doing that cause is really, really hard for us to listen through. Thank you and good luck!!
