I was contacted by an AWS recruiter, had my first phone interview which ended with the recruiter saying “ we went overtime but you’re so interesting to listen to, I really liked everything I heard” 3 days later I check the dashboard and see that I’m no longer under consideration. I asked confirmation from the recruiter that the process was not going forward but I haven’t received a reply. Oh well.

I think they're trained to talk like that. My Amazon recruiter was also very friendly until he tried to ghost me after the 4 hour long final round. I sent an email after a week for a feedback and then after a month. Then finally after a couple of months, he called me to say that I was not selected. He didn't even care to explain what went wrong and he was not as energetic as he was initially. 🙄 But one good thing about Amazon is that your resume and contact details will remain in their database. You may be contacted again by a different recruiter in the future. I got contacted by 3 different Amazon recruiters after the rejection.

My son went from working hard on a hay farm to being a package driver for Amazon for one dollar more an hour. He loved it at first but that love quickly wore off. As he kept making his delivery time goals each week, they kept pushing him more and more without any bonuses. It was never good enough. He was working 12 hour shifts. He was exhausted, going up flights up stairs carrying packages daily. The better he was, they more they worked him until he completely gave out. Once he tripped on a step and he was terrified to tell management so he wouldn't get yelled at n get a mark against him or get fired. I cleaned his elbow and super glued his elbow skin together and put butterfly stitches on it send sent him back to work. A year later, after 2 years of no raises, tighter goals to meet, no recognition for safety, and reaching his goals, he gave up n quit.Km 5 months ago

Bruh if your managers need to TELL you to take PTO, that just screams bad WLB for the average employee. If WLB is fine, your managers shouldn’t have to compensate it for it. Plus, Amazon hires so much primarily due to the fact that they PIP and fire employees with a yearly target. Someone’s getting let go at the end of the day.

Please stop hmm-ing in the microphone and said "yes, yeah etc" when your interlocutor is speaking. Is unnecessary and if you want to say something please keep everything until after your interlocutor is ending what he has to said. You had nice questions and is a great interview overall, but please stop doing that cause is really, really hard for us to listen through. Thank you and good luck!!
