@@shunyataberlin, who is the one in luck? 😉 Goecke or the journalist? I am from Hannover, where Goecke has just resigned before they could fire him. I have to say that my sympathies are with the dog-pooh covered journalist. I read her review - and from what I have seen so far from Goecke's work she was right on the money! Edit: People should not condemn Goecke as a human being just because of one very foolish action.

@@peterectasy2957 , I agree, and what I have seen from Marco Goecke's work isn't my cup of tea! But there is something else: after I saw a short video of his dog and an interview where he didn't sport tinted glasses, I realized that I actually know him and his dog personally! I have a dog, too, and I often met him and his dog Gustav in our local park because he lives just around the corner. I knew that he traveled often, but I didn't know about his job. We talked often and exchanged many thoughts in a very nice and personal way. He always came across as very sensitive and caring and not at all as a vein and self-absorbed artist. And since his chef at the opera in Hannover said the same positive things about him, he might be genuinely a nice guy - at least most of the time. It's flabbergasting that he attacked the journalist in such a nasty way! There is of course no excuse - even if the review would have been unfair, which IMO it wasn't. The whole thing is very strange!

Deemah, as a dog owner I asked myself the same question! Goecke might've planned to besmirch the journalist. I have never carried the pooh of my dog into a theater 😉

My understanding is that Goecke's movement vocabulary needs to be executed and communicated with a sense of urgency and angst, as if one has discovered dog poop on their body and is desperately trying to remove it. Goecke's choreography might best be understood as a 21st-century reply to the early 20th-century Ausdruckstanz of Mary Wigman, and can be termed Auskackstanz or Ausscheißtanz. 😎💩
