Interview Cancelled

Have you been in a situation Interview was scheduled and then Cancelled?
One of the questions that we have been receiving a lot is that individuals who were scheduled for an interview later receive a notice that says their interview has been canceled.
Maybe you got on your USCIS case status check and you saw that it said your interview was canceled or you got a letter in the mail that said your interview was canceled.
I know that probably is really scary and also really frustrating because you received that notification saying your case has been scheduled for an interview.
You likely have been waiting a long time for that notification and you were simultaneously excited and nervous for your interview and then you receive a notification that says it was canceled and you probably feel nervous what does this mean does it mean that they found something in my case?

Thank you dear for being honest. I got scheduled my interview and never received a cancellation notice , neither my attorney. Coz he submitted all docs 3days before interview date and the officer confirmed everything. But when we checked in at the counter on interview day the said it’s canceled. My interview was scheduled after 4 years and 9 months, so It’s really frustrating and that deep breath is hurts too much. Thank you though.

That is so unfair, you had a lawyer and you still had to wait nearly 5 years after your interview was canceled. My interview was canceled nearly 4.5 months ago and I am already frustrated, I can't imagine how frustrated you must have been.

Hi, I entered to USA with C1/D visa. I have my asylum case going on for years. Then I got married to a citizen and have a baby as well. We were called for and I-485 adjustment of status interview, on the interview day at the office our number was called and the immigration officer said “unfortunately, your interview can’t be done today, since we don’t have everything we need” We’re super confused of what happened. Any idea why they did that ? Or how long I should wait to get an interview back ?

I got to the interview today after 3 hrs USCIS offer came out and said their network is down and they will need to reschedule US about 20 of us. It was frustrating do you know how long it takes for uscis to reschedule?

Hi, my case has been "an interview will be scheduled" for 2 years now. It is for I-751. Is that normal?

That seems long. It depends on state and USCIS office, I submitted my I-751 in August 2021 and had my interview in September 2nd 2022 and received my 10 yrs GC in September 10, 2022. Submitted my N-400 in July 23, 2022 and my interview was scheduled December 4th, 2022 for January 9th 2023, but unfortunately USCIS officer called me January 5th 2023 stating that my interview was going to be canceled and they will let me know when it is rescheduled. I live in Los Angeles, CA and my USCIS office is in SFV(San Fernando Valley)

Question for ya. My mother and I were in our way to her citizenship interview (second attempt )the other day,unfortunately we had a car accident( tire blow up etc) 15mins before the appointment about 5 blocks away from the USCIS local building . I called them asking to reschedule i also explained the situation with details, the ,officer said: my supervisor will review your case and he will get bck to ya via email,also we will send you a letter. Today I received an email from USCIS, says : Your request for reschedule of your re -examination has been considered and denied by a supervisor immigration service officers. I was like WTF !, should I send them a letter with proof of the accident such as: Pictures, towing etc? Am I gonna lose tons of money helping my elderly mother to her citizenship? 🤦‍♂️ feel like immigration these days doest have a heart unless u crossed the border illegally or your from Ukraine 🤔

Our interview was scheduled for yesterday, and we went and did the interview and all went well. So this morning I decided to check on the USICS online and saw it says the interview was cancelled yesterday and a notice was sent out. How can this be possible because we already did the interview. Don't the officer who did the review see this error?

Similar situation happened to me for my i751 interview. I had an interview and USCIS officer approved my case, but when I was on my home I received text message and an email stating that my interview has been canceled. Fortunately for me I received my 10 yrs GC a week later. Something must be wrong with their system. As far as my N-400, I was scheduled to have interview on the 9th of January, 2023 but out of the blue USCIS officer called me on the 5th of January, 2023 stating that due to not receiving my file my interview will be de-scheduled. Still waiting for my interview to be scheduled and nothing so far.

Hopefully you received approval same week. Same thing happened to me. I had interview and office approved my case, but while on the way home I received message stating that my interview was canceled and it will be rescheduled. (This for my 10 yrs GC). However in a few days I received another message saying that my case has been approved and I received my GC 10 days after my interview. Even after receiving my GC I received notification from USCIS that my interview had been canceled. Not sure why that happens. Hopefully everything went well for you. As far as N-400, my interview cancelled 3 days before scheduled interview date and it has been 2 months still have not received interview date.

Thank you, I'm relieved. I had interview that was scheduled for January 9th 2023, however USCIS officer called me on January 5th stating that due to not receiving my file in time he had to deschedule my interview. I asked if there was anything missing on my end he said no. Hopefully I'll receive something by February 5th or 6th. Thx again

I've been waiting more than a year now after canceling my interview.... 1yr and 7m total time waiting and still, I have no idea what to do. I called them many times and advised me to do service request and will get a reply within 30days... Three times service request done which means three months and I had no reply... So wired 😳

Today I received 2 letters in the mail from USCIS, one has an interview date for my naturalization and the second one canceled the interview date for unforseen circumstances. I feel worried. Both letters were sent out the same day. I'm wondering if their system has a glitch , also when checking my case status online it gave me info only about my interview date and no mention about the cancelation. Canceled and it’s been 3 months now and no sign of rescheduling. Bump up those numbers. No one will be rescheduled within a month you are lucky if they reschedule you in less than 6 months.

Any update on your case? How long did it take before you received reschedule date for N-400 interview. My interview date was 01/09/2023 but I received a call from USCIS officer in 01/05/2023 to be told that my interview had been canceled due to not receiving my file. It has been 24 days since I received that call and still no change in my case. I would be grateful if you can tell me about your timeline regarding your case. Hi, I received a phone call 2 days before my naturalization interview from someone claiming to be from USCIS telling me not to come to the interview anymore because it's been rescheduled. There has been no change to my case status online and when I called back the number is indeed from my local USCIS field office. Should I still come in for my interview? Thanks!
