Even though Roger Collins could be an absolute snit - I didn't grow to be too fond of him until after the episode where he admitted his guilt in the car crash to Burke Devlin, and McGuire showed up, when he seemed more sensitive towards Vicky and David - he had some of the best lines in the series, and I absolutely love Louis as an actor. He was charming and elegant, and had a devilish sense of humor. RIP Louis. You helped make Dark Shadows one of my all-time beloved TV series.

He, I think is my favorite character! He was so hillarious at times, he would have me laughing at his characters wit and snappy lines! He made the show so much funnier, yep my favorite one!!!

Rest in Peace,God Bless Louis Edmonds 09/24/1923 - 03/03/2001 A very capable and funny actor. This guy played the "pompous ass" to a ' T ' ! The fake 'mid-atlantic English' accent is not a real accent,it is an affectation developed for stage and screen. Many used it in what are now old movies. (Check out Katherine Hepburn in Philadelphia Story for a great example) It was supposed to be an 'English accent for the masses',in the US. (Which added some class to American-English but surely did no favors for England-English). Anyhow,Mr Edmonds mastered that style of speech and used it for devastatingly comical ends. His role as 'Roger Collins' was masterful,he stole most of the scenes without even trying. His character could be so harsh and cold that I could not help but laugh,as we've all known people in real life that are a lot like 'Roger Collins". I am happy to see he was willing to be interviewed in his later years,as some older stars flake-out and hide. He is missed.

I'm watching "The Beginning" DVD Collection 1. Edmonds is great. I love the accent. I first watched this show when the hand of Count Petofi came on. I was eight years old and scared to death! I've purchased the DVD Dark Shadows Collection 1 when Barnabas was released from his coffin. Made it to Collection 14, one DVD purchase at a time. I find out that I've missed the first six Collections so I'm going back in time to watch these before I go any further. This is a fun/great watch!

Dissect This I did pretty much the same thing. Started watching when I was 9 or 10 years old in the 1960’s and then when they started releasing the show on DVD’s many years later, I bought them as soon as they were released and watched the. With my 11 year old daughter. Now that they’ve come out on Amazon, she’s re-watching with her boyfriend. So nearly 4 generations of DS fans in my family (my mom loved the show too!)

When Louis Edmonds & Jonathan Frid were on screen together in Dark Shadows, I think it made for some of the best acting in daytime television. They were amazing actors & especially in scenes together.

We have been binge watching every single episode of Dark Shadows and the more I watch his portrayal of Roger the more he has become my favorite character. What a charming man he must have been in life.

This is the third time I am going through Dark Shadows, and I still haven't gotten tired of watching this incredibly good soap opera!! In my opinion, Dark Shadows is by FAR, the best soap opera ever!

PS: AGE IS NEVER FAIR TO BOTH FAMOUS & NON-FAMOUS. MAY HE (RIP). THIS INTERVIEW MUST HAVE BEEN IN THE MID 1990'S I THINK, HE LOOKS MUCH OLDER & FRANKLY HE DOESN'T LOOK WELL AT ALL IN THIS BRIEF INTERVIEW. What happened to Louis's chin? That straight vertical line from the bottom of his chin that seems to go into his mouth? Did he meet with a terrible accident? Poor guy.
