Ironically , nobody mention Lusk to Paul d'Amour . Masterpiece of an album. Many Thanx to him for his creativity . Bravo Paul !

Paul D'Amour rarely gets credit for creating the "TOOL" sound with his bass style.

I love what Justin added to Tool, but the raw, rhythmic, hard picking in your face bass Paul brought is my favorite.. Best Tool albums were with him in my opinion

Paul's Feersum Ennjin record is some of the best music I've ever heard and when I found out he joined Ministry, I was very happy for him.

Maynard should interview Paul and talk about stories from his time in the band, as well as his thoughts on Justin Chancellor and Tool's albums after he left the band

According to Carey, D'Amour left the band because he wanted to play guitar rather than bass.[28]

I know Paul said the creative process was too much. He is a creator so he creates. He didn’t want to play the same thing in the studio a thousand times, lol.

He also wanted to do synths and keyboards for Tool as well, probably the main reason why they brought along Chris Pittman from 1994-1996

Nah. Justin changed the band forever. Aenema and Lateralus were levels above their earlier stuff. Love Paul but Justin took them to the next level. If you can't hear that while listening to Aenema, you're tone deaf or something

Probably, but his footprint is there, even in albums he wasn't in like basically half of AEnima, and a lot of people love his style (me included) so the man's getting some recognition, even if it's not as much as he should

Poor guy doesn’t know how to use words. “Personal zeitgeist” is a contradiction in terms. And the word he was looking for is “progenitor”, not whatever garbled version he said.
